This article is so full of itself and the DHS, that it stinks to high heaven. Like this bug in Sendmail was going to "cripple the Internet!" or some other sensational crap. I know there isn't a lot to report on right now but, c'mon! find something a little more worthwhile CNet. yeesh!
As a long time GNOME supporter and user, the latest incarnation has completely turned me away from it. I was a very happy Gnome v1.4 user and still run it at work. The problem now is that my favortite apps are starting to convert to v2.2 and soon I'll either have to run v2.2 or stay with obscurity in v1.4 My biggest gripe with v2 is Metacity. And yes, while you CAN switch WM's, Sawfish just doen't work the same as it did in v1.4 After not running KDE since the original v2, I have now returned to it with v3.1 I was truly impressed at how much has changed in it and the improvements are unreal. Sorry boys, but your choice of taking MY choices away in Gnome have caused you to lose yet another supporter.
"Microsoft has responded to a need customers have asked for," said one source also familiar with the deal. "It will provide server consolidation, software distribution and better development, and they are moving to address that."
Obviously, these "customers" have never tried VMware which is one of the best killer apps I have used in a LONG time. I enjoy running W2K in VMware on my Mandrake box here at work. It nice to not have to reboot the entire PC when windows crashes. I can still do other pats of my job while the windows partition is booting. This is just another attempt by MS to own EVERYTHING that they don't already own. Hey MS, leave these guys alone you jerk offs!
Don't use the software. Buy another competitors software that doesn't employ these bullshit methods. TaxCut by H&R Block works just as good and doesn't require all of the DRM crap that Intuit feels they need to use. I bought TurboTax last year at my wife's request. This year, they can kiss my ass goodbuy as a customer. If anyone from Intuit is reading Slashdot, all I have to say is: "FUCK U, assHOLES!"
Uh, I think they still need to fill this "hole" (pun intended). Perhaps if they try removing all those integrated services and make them modular, they might be able to lock down their OS to the level that most NIX's have enjoyed for years now. Think of it in terms of inbreeding...the more times you marry your sister, the weaker the blood becomes. Same thing with Windows. My sig says it all in regards to why Windows is so popular.
..my "1-Kick Ass Whuppin" technique. I swear, doesn't Amazon have anything better to fucking do with their time?? Who do they honestly thing they will license something like this to OR go after?
Wow, that was truly the most amusing thread I've ever seen from a group of AC's yet. For the record you fucktards, I am more than aware that burning a DVD is not OS specific. The point I was trying to make was that it was INTERGRATED into the OS and that yes, Apple did it first. And here we have MS following suite and no DOUBT they will taut it as an "innovation" on their part just like that have so many other features they have copied. Has Linux done the same thing? Absolutly! The only difference is that the community doesn't go and take credit for it like they invented it. They look at it and say "yeah, that's cool...let's do it our way now." The only trolls here that need to be moderated down are you MS apologists who hide behind the AC tag.
...let's see..where have I seen that before..hmm...oh right!...that would be in Mac OS X!!! Jesus! Yet another "feature" stolen from the Apple OS. Let me guess, next we'll see "MoviesXP(tm)"...let's you edit your DV movies from a simple gui. I am not a huge supporter of Apple, but, the stuff being ripped of by MS is unfuckingbelievable! And let me guess, it's no doubt a feature that "our customers have asked for". Innovation my ass!
Please take it personally when I offer you to clearly go fuck yourselves. Your continued facists tactics will indeed reap benefits...but not the ones that you think they will.
This ALSO worked for Metallica until they forgot their "past" and became the RIAA's bitches. They could have been the perfect band to start a new way of how we as consumers get our music but alas, we all know how THAT story ended.
S.L.A. (Service Level Agreement) If said small provider is telling the truth, then he won't have a problem signing one. I've found in my area that the big guys are the bullshiters when it comes to SLA's.
NorthWest, or NoneWorst as we call it here in the midwest, will do ANYTHING to try and jump start their crappy airlines. I stopped flying these fuckers after all 4 of my flights had delays due to "mechanical problems". No doubt now they will use this as a marketing ploy to draw back pissed off customers that they've done an excellent job of fucking over.
My thoughts exactly. All that information and more (like being an Organ Donor) is stored by the DMV. And yes, they are ALL now netowrked across the states. No more hiding from those tickets in another state. Hell, if you've rented a car in the last few years, the agencies have more info on you than you realize. It's pretty fucking scary.

Back in the "day", I remember playing MechWarrior 2 online via NetMech. My Clan would play for many, many hours against other clans. Let me tell you, a 3 on 3 game of Mech2 via dial-up was a brutal thing. After about 2.5 hours of playing in a hot apartment, you do kinda get into that "zone". It was almost like hallucinating and your hands and mind would be one. Very strange sensation coming outta that "trance".
I was thinking the exact same thing in referance to VCR's. This fucktard obviously has never seen my l33t skillz of fast forwarding through all of the commercials and hitting "play" right before the show comes back on. Oh yeah, I tend to tape almost EVERYTHING I watch for the explicite reson of skipping commercials and if I am watching something live, I'm the fastest MUTE button clicker in the MidWest. These morons just dont get it.
IMHO, I have found no better tech support than the fine people at Lotus (and this was before IBM pulled them back in). Everyone I have dealt with knew their stuff or knew how to get ahold of someone that knew the answers. Since their convergence with IBM, the support has gotten even better (hard as that is to believe). It's a damn shame that my employer is going to switch us off of Notes/Domino and onto Outbreak/Exchange. I can't wait to have to call M$ $upport.
Talk about one of the better Q&A's in here in a while! And on the subject of an Open Exchange type server, group email and scheduling is one of those areas that has lacked in Linux, IMHO. And if it would allow Outlook to connect to it, you'd have a MAJOR winner on your hands!
Great, I finally decide to record/watch an episode this season (cause the rest haven't even been worth watching) and you go and FUCK it for me!! And screw your apology, fucktard!
Breaking even in the.com world means that you are actually MAKING money, assmunch. Nobody ever said anything about buyin stock in this company. Paying for a distribution that is actually worth it benefits everyone. Including your sorry ass, trollboy.
I love all the trolling the AC cocksuckers are doing with this one. Let's see..I wonder what IP block (Redmond) they are originating from? IF you read it, you will see that they are on track to actually make money this year. I for one have indeed contributed the paltry $60 USD for what I consider a great Linux distro. Compare that to the $299 that Uncle Billy will be taking out on your sorry asses, you M$ apologist. Oh wait, you guys can d/l that for free from the warez groups. Nevermind.
ROFL!!! Oh man, I almost fell outta my chair laughing at this one. Somebody mod this up
Dropping, I can see...but drowning? Do you take baths with it or what?

As I've said before:
FUCK YOU! I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!! (Repeat Verse 4 times)
MOTHERFUCKERS!! UNF! UNF! UNF!
Man, I miss RATM.
...I want to see "Debbie Does Dallas" in IMAX format. Or, if you can't secure those rights, how about "Deep Throat".
Of COURSE this group is going to want to see gigoundous p0rn! Who the hell wouldn't! duh!!
