I can't wait! Someone tell whomever is involved to make sure that all EMAIL is knocked off-line! That way, I can go home and not have to listen to all of the fucking whining about SPAM. At least if email is down, I have someone to blame:-)
Hasn't MSFT learned that FUD will get you no where? If I remember correctly, they (MS) did a survey in Japan that clearly showed that a negative ad campaign only caused people to distrust MS less than they already do. Same as politics. Mud throwing will only show that you are a loser, Mr. Bush.
These are the kinds of SCO stories that make me smile on a rainy day (like today). The irony is just too grand. Like John Lennon used to sing: "Instant karma's gonna get youuuu":-)
Bend over and smile. Apple's "master" has spoken and you WILL pay them their "just" due! Next up: The RIAA will automatically withdraw money from your bank account everytime you sing a tune in your HEAD! The sub-dermal application will be called "im0WNEDBYTHER1AA".
This story really brightened my day especially since we are still in the middle of patching our fscking Windows servers. It's great to see a success story like this. I think I'll forward a link to the major news outlets. You never know who might pick it up.
"In the event of needed enhancements or fixes, the Linux development community, no matter how well intentioned, simply cannot advance Linux the way we can - and must - innovate in Windows."
Two Words: Tabbed Browsing (like I'm doing right now)
I have to wonder: Does Stevie actually write/believe this shit or is it handed to him by the mindless drones in Marketing?
I know it sounds silly, but it's the only thing that will keep me from buying this. Why, you ask? Think about the trilogy and specifically the characters that start off as scum and end up heroes.
Han...smuggler, liar, overall questionable. Guido comes to "take him out" and what does he do? Shoots first. Kill or be killed. Runs away from the fight but then comes back after he realizes it's the right thing to do.
Lando...scum like Han. Betrays his friend to the Empire. Comes to the rescue at the end and helps rescue Han in "Jedi".
Vader...nothing needs to be said here about his character. Turns on the Emperor after he realizes that his life has all been wrong.
What do all these characters have in common? Redemption. They all start off "bad" and end up "good". And that is why I feel that changing that scene ruins Han's character development.
Oh, I run Firefox as my default browser at work. I'm not the person having the problems. It's the rest of the organization that is having issues. And unfortunately, my management has decided to stick with Internet Exploiter even after all of the crap that has happened. And you are right, most websites assume that IE is the default and write code based for it which of course makes all of the other competent browsers look broken. {insert sarcasm}Yeah, running a monopoly in Corporate America is a Good Thing(tm) {end sarcasm}
Actually, I'm very interested to see if the SP2 pop-up ad blocker will actually work in IE since MS has dragged their feet on this issue. Half the battles we have been fighting lately at work involve IE and pop-ups that install crap without any notification.
Huh...so I guess that mp3 copy of "Everything Must Go" that I listened to last week must have been encrypted. Wow, I didn't know that XMMS had that capability. What an amazing player!;)
Both obsevations above make some excellent points that I didn't consider. Maybe one of the other products will indeed be next on the chopping block. I guess we'll just have to sit back and see.
I've seen the new version running on WinXP via a Microsoft tech. The best quote from him was "We would have bought VMware but, VirtualPC intergrated so nicely into our OS that we decide, what the heck". This was followed by a quote from a VM manager to us that up until recently, MS was their largest customer including running an unreal amount of ESX servers. For those of you not familiar with this product, it is a custom Linux install running some truly outstanding server software.
Since server integration is the next big money maker for a LOT of vendors, I'm sure that MS will use the "no one uses V-PC on Macs anyways so we're redirecting our R&D to the Windows version" excuse here shortly.
I recently read you letter to commercial Linux users. I have to say, I have not read such a collection of patheticness since reading the Halloween Documents several years ago. Your letter is not only insulting to the Linux community (which has helped advance SCO in many areas) but, it is also a display of just how low you and your company have stooped in a sagging IT economy. If you and the rest of the executives at SCO cannot figure out a profitable business model that does not include sueing other companies for what is an obvious ploy to be purchased and then retire on the profits that you stand to make, then perhaps you and the rest of the losers should step down and allow somebody with some true leadership abilities to return SCO to it's profit making days. Please, stop now before you embarass yourself and SCO any further. Thanks you.
I wonder if he did his little "monkey dance" while promoting WMP 10 for the crowd. I really enjoy watching him bounce around.
This sucks! I scheduled my ENTIRE day around this event actually going as planned. WTF kind of quality control are these cyber-terrorist using, eh??!

"X.org-X11 is now the default XServer (current version is 6.7.0-r1).
That says it all. Buh-bye, XFree86!

That's right kids! You get a free hit of WiFi when you come to the park. After that well...I gots to make a living turning you into a junkie, Chester!
Has free "bat night" lost it's appeal?

...IE will continue to be broken then :-)

No thanks
"That's Unpossible!" --bonus Karma points for whoever can guess where that quote is from.
I guess now I know why I'm always late to meetings ;-)
NNNOOOOoooooOOOOooooOOOOOO!!!!! ANYTHING but Shatner singing again!!

*yaaawn*
SCO needs to find a better revenue method. This path is getting old.
