    The internet would mostly be a bunch of online stores and services you had to subscribe to but at least the services would be ad free.

  4. My brother thinks all news outlets are pushing an agenda of some kind, so ever since the rise of the smart phone he get's his news by finding video people have posted.

    I would say that I'm not the least bit surprised when he finds stories that aren't reported anywhere but posts of video from onlookers cell phones or multiple video sources that do not go along with the story reported by main stream media.

    It's very likely and it wouldn't be the first time we thought something to be extinct only to find a small population of them somewhere.

  7. That's not how it works. Of course NASA's overhead drops when they contract that work out instead of doing it themselves it just means someone else is doing the work and cost where shifted to them. You should be asking does it cost less to contract that out?

    Since they have about 95 million subscribers now $6 Billion would be around half their yearly revenue. If the new content brings in new subscribers it would be well worth it and they don't need to be cord cutters netflix service is still less per year than I paid for cable per month.

    They won't be after the talent responsible for those HBO originals flock to netflix because they pay better.

    If you are looking to surf the net, check email, stream movies/music, etc... then there are plenty of distros that work really well on standard hardware right out of the box. It's when you start tossing in non-standard hardware that you run into the problem.

    You mentioned controlling mechanical equipment and if you have something that's not printer/scanner/fax then you would probably need to see what the manufacture of that hardware says.

    I have cable only through cox and they do offer TV bundles that are not that much more expensive at least for the first 6 or 12 months. I think the last offer they tried to give me was a one year deal for around $10 for the first 6 months to add a tv package and then it went up $60 or maybe it was 2 years and the deal was for the first year.

    Doesn't matter I canceled the TV packages because I never watched them to begin with.

    You can extract the wide-vine extension from something running chome os and then change your agent string...

    I recently purchased a few rpi 3 for myself and a couple friends and before we bought them we looked at the banana/orange pi and odroid they had a little better specs but the rpi community is what sold us.

    I'm glad we chose the rpi because each problem we ran into and there were a couple all it took was quick look on the rpi forum and I was able to find the fix immediately.

    It's almost always the free version also, I'm sure if the only version available was a paid version or limited in the number of clients it could connect to it would reduce the number of scamers using team viewer.

    In the US it really depends on the area.

    My home town has one service provider, the city I live in now has two.

    My home town in Kansas always had great reception for OTA because the terrain is fairly flat and unobstructed so we didn't get cable until the mid 80s after they had added pay channels and the population had increased making demand high enough to make it worthwhile. Satellite was popular for remote areas that couldn't get cable around that time as well but the nearby city had cable since maybe the 60s.

    We already have a service like this that is supposed help cut costs but generally it just turns the air conditioning off when it thinks you should be at work. It's not very helpful if you don't work banking hours.

    If you want to reduce your heating and cooling bills then upgrade your windows, doors, and insulation if needed then purchase newer energy saving heater and air conditioner if they are old. Shade trees help in the summer also but they take a long time to grow and you have to care for them and make sure the roots don't get into your sewer line.

  23. I got that book for my step-son in the hopes that he would go into computers though I didn't realize at the time that the pay would suck by the time he grew up.

    In the end it really comes down to which definition of crime you use. "illegal activity." pretty much sums it up.

    You are using a definition based on which court you end up going to based on laws that differ state to state and country to country.
