We get to read this story every few years. Some company makes a popular product and all of a sudden they are the authority on development. News flash guys, enterprise software wasn't just invented and we've been rolling out features to millions of people for years. In environments where any discrepancy can lead to serious legal repercussions. So just for a second, hear us out. We know what we're doing and we don't need to reinvent it every few years because the guys from Facebook, Basecamp, Hacker news, or any other place said we're doing it wrong. Our bottom line and years of quality deliveries say we're doing it right. What do these guys have besides a history of rolling out mistakes? Their value is based on hype, not their code quality. Some of us don't have the luxury to make huge mistakes and have our customers be okay with it.
I kind of wonder if this is our inner caveman speaking out. Rock throwing intrigues us and was once our main weapon against prey and predator. There's something inside that just drives a man to pick up an object and throw it. It's fun.
You know what's really expensive? Office furniture. Maybe employees could buy their own..
In all seriousness, if the cost of business is too high for you then you're doing it wrong. Perhaps business 101 is in order where you learn to pass the cost of doing business to the customer for a price. You know, that whole thing called "business".
Those aren't UFOs conspiracy noob. Those are craft built by a consortium of conglomerates and elites using stolen technology from aliens, and they will be used to facilitate the world-wide hoax called Project Blue Beam. Although this effort is being thwarted by another powerful group who are using their weather and earthquake weapons in a secret war.
You might as well just light your money on fire. It would be quicker and less emotionally painful.
You'd be better off sending your money to a local group, because I'm pretty sure your leaders act the same as ours. You can believe otherwise if you like.
Oh no. An agency authorized by the people to keep them safe has used the system we created to keep the people safe. Will there be no end to this tyranny?
They probably have their own strategy planned and want to have them come in on it. They've been "Sir Walter Embracement" lately within the development community. It's kind of scary.
It's not really that low. That is not the amount of alerts issued, it's the amount of children that go missing each year. They highlight that number to show need for the system.
On the way to lunch just yesterday my coworker ran into the opposite lane because he was focused on getting bluetooth synced to his car, a mazda 3. Think about that. He almost killed people so he could play music from his phone in his car. It's fucking ridiculous. I can't wait until cars can drive themselves. People as a whole do a poor job at it.
I kind of wonder if this is because horse power has reached a point where more becomes moot. The difference between a 250HP car and a 400HP car is negligible to the average daily driver. So since more doesn't mean much and efficiency is always on everyone's minds, is that why tech has become more important?
It's really no surprise Facebook is the prom queen in Goldman Sachs' eyes. Both companies don't produce anything and make money from being the middle man, connecting people. They basically are both in the "transaction" game, just a different one. A traditional market will trade money or commodities, this one trades eyeballs.

You use a keyboard? How quaint.
Yes but what music and TV were they listening too at the time? Perhaps Nat King Cole drove them to violence. I know it does me.
Just more proof he really was crazy. That games is terrible.
This is great news. They can drive it underground. We'll create it and sell it for ten times as much. Prohibition is great for business.

I disagree. Without the penal system we'd see much more crime. Do you deny that?

This is common knowledge.

And that changes nothing. He will still be tried by the US government, possibly for treason.

LOL, that's my new signature.

Wow. I had a well crafted response but I realized it was a waste. I can't teach you human compassion in a slashdot comment..

Behold! - The power of alcohol.
As long as I can wipe the sweat from Elisabeth Shue's forehead I'm okay with this plan. Proceed.

I disagree. No one paid attention because the information wasn't as scandalous. Assange is a tool.
Actually I'm a VFR pilot. There is no FAA regulation that states I need to know that. How ya like them apples smarty pants?
LOL I wish I had mod points. I thought the same exact thing when I read that.
This one guy showed me he could do the same with a screw driver and a hammer when he stole my car. And he didn't have any research grants..
