here are some totally unscientific definitions, do not use:
Strong typing: Original IBM PC keyboard, requires effort, but very satisfying for coding, data entry, letter writing, or any other purpose requiring text. Your hands will get tired.
Dynamic typing: The old Apple adjustable keyboard or the IBM Butterfly laptop. Breaks easily, but may fit your hands better.
Weak typing: The Atari 400 membrane keyboard. Often too wimpy to handle adult hands.
Static typing: Keyboard has loose wiring and gives you an electric shock. Ouch!
Is necessary. On my old PB G3 Bronze (still going strong) I use the slot for three different features: firewire, 802.11, SmartMedia adapter for my digital camera. Yes, the first two are included in new notebooks from apple; but when I bought the PB in '99 they were not in common use. Similarly, other stuff will be invented in the next several years that will fit into a PC Card slot, and it would be a damn shame not to be able to use it.
Under NO circumstances should you accept joint liability for a corporate card. NEVER DO IT. Do not put personal expenses on a corporate card either. It's just a bad idea to let your personal credit report be at any risk based on, for example, late payment by your accounting department (would have happened to me had I mixed my expenses).
My theory is that they particularly hate Opera because it's commercial. To their customers (OEMs and corporate licensees) they can bash Mozilla for being open-source and therefore unreliable, Netscape for being too tied to AOL, and Safari for being too new and half-baked, but Opera proves that there's something better, separate from the OS, that people are willing to pay for, and this must really piss them off.
Of course, I am happy with Moz and never think of using MSN. But that's just me.
SmartMedia (or CompactFlash, or your other favorite tiny-memory-card) in PCMCIA adapter. Works perfectly. On desktops you need to add a slot for it, but I never use desktops anyway.
Maybe Jack is one of those asses who actually drive 55 in a 70 zone. Or maybe he was one of the few, thw proud who put the "It's A Law We Can Live With" stickers on his car (1980 vintage Dodge Diplomat, maybe?) while everyone else cursed him and passed him on the right and lobbied for that law's repeal. Hilarious.
Note the frequent use of the word libelous. I bet the next step is the lawsuit against the NYT and Markoff - perhaps Mitnick will be wanting to get some of the profits from the book...
Hell, even names that had no real significance on their own (Comprehensive Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act = COBRA) are memorable with the right acronym. And everyone wants to be patriotic.
So maybe we need the United Support of Artists via Free Legal Access to Great music act. Then its opponents can be easily bashed as unpatriotic. You don't want to be a FLAG burner, do you? Fox News would love it.
Well, I used automated check-in yesterday, while the n00bs with big luggage and/or paper tickets stood in a long line. So it was a plus for me, whether or not they "hope I believe" it.
For me the trade-offs (less convenient interline transfers if a flight is cancelled) are worth it for the benefits (much quicker check-ins). Maybe they aren't for you.
Yes, I know, oldie but goodie.
Ah well, 640MB ought to be enough for anybody.

IP over Avian Carriers now supports Quality of Service. Just FYI.
I see your point, though - certainly for faster data transfer it's firewire or USB 2.0.
Necessary for future expansions not yet invented.
At least not until they change their name to GNU/Castle

then they can just go right ahead.
I posted something but can't see it - yet it appears after posting that there are 244 comments. All attempted FP's? WTF?
You're commenting on this AT WORK.

Right, because it's so much better when the union steals of your dues to buy vacations, and jewelry? Fuck that.

Apples have been heat resistant since the days of the Apple II Plus!
MagicGate?
ten minutes?
If you need one I'm sure you can still connect one. Dell just won't ship as part of standard config.

I would be more likely to hire a Certified Linux Installation Technician. But maybe that's just me.
It's worth getting admin access if you're on Win2K or XP, to have a non-shitty browser.
