I'm saying that coming to a site that focuses almost exclusively on computer technology and then complaining when topics relating to two of the biggest influences upon that technology arise is silly. Whatever your interests are, I'm sure there is a site for it. Why not find that instead?
And Bill Gates is probably the last famous person I would say had a polished public image. He's always struck me as being a pretty real person, as far as famous people go.
If you don't care, then you are on the wrong site.
Even though Bill and Steve were fierce competitors, they were sort of two halves of a whole. The "yin" and "yang", so to say. When you've known somebody for that long and had such an intense common interest, animosity tends to get lost if something truly bad happens to the other.
I recently spotted some unlocked Blu Quattro 4.5 phones for about $230, brand new. It's got some pretty damned nice specs for that price. The build quality looks good, but I'm not sure how well it functions over time.
You can upgrade to Windows 8 from any version of XP, Vista or 7. The Windows 8 upgrade is actually a full blown installation, it just checks to see that you have one of those prior versions of Windows before installing or upgrading.
I doubt it will really change much because people can still monetize their channels with adverts. Some will try to make the extra money grab with premium content, as you say, but I doubt many will.
So long as the subscription is actually monthly and doesn't require any long term commitment, I wouldn't have a problem paying if I noticed something that I really wanted to see. It might even provide motivation for better content.
Take a look at Another World, NBA Jam and R-Type. I realise the latter two aren't platformers, but they are 2D side scrollers and have good touchscreen controls.
Is that reliable? A benchmark? Are there any real world comparisons or reviews? Preferably with the actual MK808B product and not a TMSON M9 tablet. Also comparing the same resolution vs the same resolution, since TMSON M9 is 768x1024 and, presumably, Ouya was tested at 1920x1080.
It just seems unlikely that the same CPU with two less cores running at a slower speed could be more powerful. Something is highly suspect with Futuremark's scoring system. They don't even have The Asus Transformer Infinity or HTC One X+ in their database.
Ouya uses a quad core Cortex A9 @ 1.7GHz and the MK808B uses a dual core Cortex A9 @ 1.6GHz. That is a pretty cut and dry comparison, even at a glance.
if you want quicklaunch, you still need to install an app for that
No you don't. You just need to configure Windows 8. It's still built in.
Right click taskbar, Toolbars>New toolbar, choose "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch". Adjust position on taskbar as needed and add whatever you want to it.
The ratio of good games to bad games is probably the same as it's always been. Don't tell me you've forgotten about the LOADS of absolute garbage games on older systems.
I had a $15 Timex that lasted for over ten years. That watch had been in the ocean, left out in the baking sun, run over by a car and a bunch of other stuff. The only reason I threw it out was because the battery finally died and it was easier just to buy a whole new Timex than to replace the battery.

I honestly have no idea what you are trying to say.

I was thinking more of an either/or situtation, not both in place at the same time.
It wasn't Velcro back then, it was those fat "New Yorker" shoelaces that came in all sorts of colours and styles. I had some Jelly Beans. :)

MC Solaar. I think most of his songs (with actual instruments, not just drums and bass) are fairly positive, though they are in French.
I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
Voltaire
It's easier to defend yourself or another if you're armed.

Maybe it's pronounced suh-ZAHN.
As I recall, OS/2 was promoted to home users. That's actually why I bought a copy back then, because I saw a television advert for it.
The only place that a publisher was necessary was on consoles, so I'm not sure what you are talking about.

Citation needed.

An Xbox 360 controller would be around $40-$50 on top of that. Might as well just get the Ouya, which has better specs anyhow.

I like the Tokyo Flash watches.

I have Audioscrobbler/Last.fm for that and it does a pretty good job of recommending new (to me) music that I actually do like.
That's what I do. I have auto update disabled and only manually update to the latest patches after they've been out for a while.
I had to hack Windows 7 to make it usable for me. In fact, I've had to hack every single OS I have ever used to make it usable. How is this different?
Those are more expensive than name brand laptops of equal or better specs that come with Windows.
