It's just a case of how time buys you better legislators. Alcohol was banned in the 20s, but pot wasn't made fully illegal for all intents and purposes until the 70s. That gave the lobbyists a full 5 decades to learn how to better subvert the will of the populace with far more draconian and far less publicized legislation. On top of all that, there is the fact that the Hemp from cannabis can be used for a broad range of things so there were ALOT more lobbyists involved.

We are ALL being harmed by the vicious hoarding of capital and wealth by a select group of individuals. Things like this are a major driving factor in poverty which is directly correlated to higher rates of crimes both violent and non-violent. Don't like your car being broken into? Don't like getting mugged? Don't like not being able to go to certain cities or areas of cities around the world? It is directly related to the fact that the global banking industry is moving wealth our of the hands of the many to the hands of the few at a pace never seen previously in recorded human history.
That's awesome of you to not realize that not everyone uses their TV as a PC monitor. I currently use my tv as a second screen on my PC so yeah I know what you're getting at, but you kind of miss the mark. Not everyone with a HDTV uses it to stream content from their PC, some people actually pay for cable or satellite. I don't but some people do. And of those people, how many will see the benefits of Ultra HD when all of the content is in standard HD?
