i usually build my PCs from well chosen quality parts made by reputable companies - and i end up with a machine significantly less expensive when compared to a mac with the same specs
in addition i can add components with exactly the features i want (if i can afford them)
especially if it can kill the mold of other stuff too
as for me, bread won't be the main usage - because it gets either eaten or too hard to eat before mold comes
there should be a lecture about this in elementary school, together with an overview of risks of social networks and place to seek help when being 'cyberbullied'
just give those kids a basic understanding of the risks of the things they use (or will use) in everyday life - without demonizing them
Even with the most advanced self-learning and reasoning AI, there was a human that ordered it to learn and reason.
same with kids: there were humans (parents, teacher, peers, etc.) who taught them to reason
the problem with your statement is: when the first sentient computer is built - your argument does not hold, because there was surely a human (most likely several of them) behind it
i got a little "electronics kit" as a birthday present and the additional modules every year after
it was a great experience and kinda brought me into the whole electronics/pc world
such kits were also available from the same manufacturer for chemistry
i would sure love to see this printing technology made into such products as they are a great way to play&learn imho
i know this will get me downmodded - but why is this something that makes sense?
imho those organs (which are most likely needed) now just go to waste, because those people will get killed either way
for asking this question!
it never occured to me to look for this feature for windows allthough it's one of those things i really really like about X (and therefore my linux boxes)
oh come on.. why do all these 'i for one..' comments get modded down?
of course this meme is a little bit old and maybe slightly overused, but still no reason to mod it down i think
you have to be honest and don't speak of europe when you boast with your incredible connection speeds
in austria (wqhich is in the middle of europe btw) you can get a 16/1.5 MBit (restricted for personal use) DSL connection with 'real' speeds of maybe 8/1 MBit if you're lucky for around 20e/month
everything else is much more expensive because of the initial costs and few providers for higher speed solutions like fiber
i always liked the AMD CPUs, mostly for almost equal computing power for less money
but at the moment this is not really true anymore it seems when i look at the benchmarks (doesn't matter if desktop or server)
why not just store their genetic information in a big 'noah's ark' database
let the extinction just happen, see if a creature was really needed for the ecosystem and if yes, revive it
well, the roi wasn't too bad actually - 50% after 9 weeks is a nice interest, where you don't have to do anything for it
you could focus on the stuff you really like to do, and not boring trading (yes, i might be biased on this one)
and if you got your money out in time, it was actually a nice thing
as long as they don't make a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am - this is not newsworthy for me

i'm not the AC OP, but organization standatrds are there for a reason - and they don't imply tunnel vision, just easier management of a whole system
thats easy - move to mint
i did so when they introduced unity and never regretted it

ever seen the movie 'demolition man'?
i'd say the root of 'evil' is approximately 'kq'

yep ... what could possibly go wrong?

but this 66% is really outrageous
there are some helpful people - usually dressed in white - who will help you with a smile!

Besides, why interface with the brain, why not just replace it?
because of cyberbrain sclerosis, duh!

mod+1 again please
i think he refered to this: http://it.slashdot.org/story/11/08/18/2338249/New-Research-Cracks-AES-Keys-3-5x-Faster, but i don't know why 251

Add a "turbo" button.
and how should this hardware magically run faster just because of a turbo button?
