The thing is that for no apperant reason Apple didn't give the user a choice in this matter. Some people zealously support Music Match. I do not know why, and I do not care why, its their choice. Now Apple upon installing iTunes disable Music Match. Thats not a nice thing to do regardless all the good things they do in different matters.
Personally I think Camino is better than this Firebird. Firebird lacks in user customizable preferences. Firebird would probably come around though. Not just yet. Camino do crash more in my experience.
And how do you think they increase storage capacity without increasing the (physical) size? They increase the density. ( or the occational extra platter) More density means greater performance as you pointed out. Cookie for you.
I would guess that his point is that you in X won't have to select copy from the "right click menu" (context), and then later select paste from the "right click menu". You just select the text, then click where ever you want to paste, and middle click to do the acctual pasting.
My Macs have done some crashing (kernel panic) related to using windows smb shares. Can't remember the details since its been a while. I don't keep Windows at home these days.
The current line of G4 Powermacs will happily boot into Os 9. I can understand that they won't bother to support the new G5s with Os 9. How many would buy one of these for 9? They would of course like that everyone switch to 10.
A little shame about those new Powerbooks though. But if they supported 9 on them people would of course complain that not all of the hardware would function (usb 2, bluetooth et al.)
I do not think it was NASA that made the decision back then. It was the company, Morton Thiokol, that manufactured the o-rings that where given the responsibility to asses the danger. They voted over the issue and found that it was bad business strategy to recommend that the launched should be canceled. NASA trusted Morton Thiokol to make the right desicion and sent Challanger to its doom.
But you can of course burn Apples aac files to cd-audio. And if you then rip the cd back to mp3 you can copy them as well. It will probably work for you. Seems like your friends don't care much for sound quality anyway. (LP -> tape).
Where do you get this price? On apple store the dual G5 costs 3246 while the dual g4 is 3625. The G5 seems less expensive. A good reason to buy one I think.

They could ask the user, or even warn him.
And I don't even OWN a Mac!!!
I do.No

Didn't Camino development freeze a while ago?
Panther has no serial number, and I don't have to prove that I have the "right" to upgrade if I wiped my c drive before I reinstalled.
Uhm, as opposed to reading it while at home, scool or in the office, trying to figure out the basics of programing.
It would probably be easier, and cheaper to build and launch GPS satellites that transmit bogus gps signals, than actually shot down us satellites.
Now that would create some havoc. At least for the first few days.
And the worm will not spread of course. Back to the drawing board sir.
Just set the dock to auto-hide to make use of the whole screen. There is no sense to put apps under the dock in any other way.

Really blew it with the url there. http://java.sun.com/people/jag/SimulaHistory.html
Ole-Johan Dahl and Kristen Nygaard first published the ideas of object oriented programming. The ideas was implemented in Simula. The story
>since it was the first real object oriented language.
Huh? What about Simula, the first object oriented language?

Pretty fast.
To help launch the new organization, America Online has pledged $2 million in cash

to the Mozilla Foundation over the next two years.

AOL gave the new Mozilla foundation 2 million dollars. Most of it would probably be used to employ previous Netscape employees.

I obviously can't read. Quote please.
And where in the article did he compare the boot-up time of a G5 and a PC?
By the way, are you claiming that your XT booted Windows XP in less than a minute?
Did your XT run Os x?

I would say blue-ray has been available within 5 years since 1997.
Indeed. 71 one hits on google is really good evidence to back up your claimes of a Pentium II 200mhz. Maybe its Pentium Pros you got?
Linux has been availible for 64-bit plattforms for years as well.
