In this respect, wouldn't it be Pegasos that is a vendor lock-in? It can run GNU/Linux, BSD, and possibly some other operating systems. The Apple G5 however, will run Mac OS X in addition to all the operatingsystems the Pegasos can field.
Yeah, real insightful. The best way to fight spam would be to not use email. If spam mail won't get through, how many legitimate emails do you never get? Wasting lots of bandwidth is not the way to fight spam.
Its the bandwidth usage that is the real problem with spam, any ok email client should catch most of the penis extending email anyway.
Yeah thats funny and all, and I don't know about this Monkey Balmer character, but Bill Gates claims he travel by tourist class/coach when using planes around the states.
I do believe Netscape included the innovative html-format in their email client first. Html emails are not all bad, but usually a simple url to the formated text is just as good, especially if you don't know the recipient.
In the end of the trailer: http://www.apple.com/games/trailers/americasarmy/ there is one old guys running the show that have a Powerbook. Maybe this guy felt left out of the group? Anyway, if they didn't clutter the original source with unportable stuff the port should be fairly easy. Quake II was ported by a guy in Germany for no pay after the source was released, a couple of pros should be able to do a port in a few weeks.
That would not be nice at all. I use the trackpad button all the time. I've turned off the trackpad tap function. When its enabled I constantly find myself clicking, when I just trying to move my finger around on the pad. Its all about getting used to it of course, but Im fine with the button. Keep the button!
Wouldn't the DRM in these file defeat this. If someone steals a cc number, Apple could be able to refund the victim, and lock down the stolen files. Everyone, except the criminal, is happy.
What would they do? They'd make their own food and not go to resturants.
So you are going to make your own music now? Good for you. Remember if you make any quality music, you'd probably want people to pay $15 for your cds too.
Why let the album or two sync over night wireless, when you can push in just a seconds over firewire. The ipod is good for ten hours or less. So when you get up next morning it is drained. And if you use a powercord to charge it over nigh, why not just plug it in the laptop/desktop to charge. I understand and agree with the wireless update of addressboks, and calendar. It would be nice to just leave the ipod in you backpack and it sync without any action from you. But this probably cost a lot, and it would not sell any more ipods.
What would be the point of enable the iPod wireless? Bluetooth is damn slow, 802.11b(and g) is a faster, bur require lots of power. The iPod battery does have short enough life span as it is.
Sure it could be a 'cool' feature, but the increased price, and the decreased battery life will not sell many units.
Firewire 400 is not the bottleneck when copying files over to your ipod. The harddrives are. And the FireWire 800 use connectors only available on new high end macs. So you first expectation is highly unlikely to happen.
Tell me about it. I could trade-in my 12" iBook 600 (8mb vram) for the new 12" Powerbook. But for some reason I can't bring myself to do it. And I only had my iBook for 1 year. Attached indeed.
Why does everyone think that Solaris is not free as Linux (yes, I understand that it isn't open) - it has been so since the mid-90s for 12 or less CPUs?
You are confusing free as in speech with free as in beer. Linux is not free as in 'gratis', it is free as in freedom.
In about 8 hours. There is a countdown on their website. You are also not supposed to need a telescope due to the balloons size.

What is this lock-in you write about?

Download is damn slow (12kb/s) Anyone have a mirror?
Thank you kind sir.
Its the one that comes with os x (Developer Tools). But I could try that of course. As for Ruby: No.
Has anyone gotten the arrowkeys to work using python in Terminal.app? All I get is: ^[[A^[[C^[[B^[[D
It is so much easier to prototype code in Python when the arrowkeys are working. I've tried bash and tcsh.

Or isn't this how the drm works?
I believe he (Tarkin) was a Grand Moff actually.
But you can. Any more bad excuses for not picking up twin today?
And how would they keep the thing from taking off? Impossible.
What would they do? They'd make their own food and not go to resturants.

Opera software will probably drop their support for os x due to the Safari browser. A good reason not to use it if ou ask me. Mac Opera Lost On Safari
He is probably refering to the fact that he likes Camino better. There by his copy of Safari is gathering dust.
If he is serious about the dust part I think you should invest in a new harddisk before its to late.
Its available through software update now.
A 12 inch Powerbook? Like that will ever happen. Come on guys enough with the April fool jokes already..
