Furthermore, it highlights just how dishonest and greedy Verizon is being in their decision to stop rolling out fiber. The primary reason they are doing it is to push more people onto 4G wireless—
I don't think that's the case. I'm loathe to defend Verizon, but from what I understand they stopped rollout because they had this amazing fiber network with no subscribers (relatively speaking), and they were getting low on cash. They even sold part of the fiber network to Frontier. Also, Verizon Wireless is not the same company as Verizon Telecom. VWZ is a company which is owned 50/50 (roughly, I think) between Verizon Telecom and Vodafone.
My favorite is clicking "agree" to the blank Steam agreement popup when installing a game. It takes a couple of seconds to load so I always "agree" to.... agree
I believe HSI (Homeland Security Investigations) is a directive or division within ICE but ICE is also and agency under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
As someone who loves Android I personally prefer PC games. I like a lot of the 3D stuff out there. And I think for some titles the PC release is the best (compared to a console) due to having better resolution/textures/etc
Just to name a few: (no particular order)
Mass Effect 1/2/3 Dragon Age 1/2 Portal 1/2 Half-Life 1/2 Witcher 2 Skyrim Crysis Max Payne 1/2 Fallout 3 Starcraft 1/2 GTA3 STALKER Torchlight 1/2 Civ (series) Bioshock Assassin's Creed 2 FEAR Metro 2033 Singularity
There's a lot of good stuff that would be hard to replicate on a touchscreen based game.
Indeed, this has been their strategy for years. Warren Buffet Called it building their "moat" around the "castle" of the search business. Datamining helps with targeting and increases the value of an advertisement. But the primary purpose here is to make sure no one can throw up a toll bridge between them and the consumer. Their original and still current goal was/is to "be the interface to information."
I dunno about paying costs, that would leave him in RIAA-style life long debt. But a reasonable contempt of court fine could be justified -- though I don't know if that is legal. In many ways jury nullification is a positive thing, but in this case it seems to have swung the other way completely (assuming Samsung's accusations are true).
Sorry to reply to myself, but it seems I'm tired and wasnt thinking -- Big clarification: The Shumway player does support AS -- as it support SWFs, and thus naturally, AS3.
I love the Free / OSS nature of something like this, but one of the absolute best** things about Flash is the ActionScript language (specifically AS3) (and to a lesser extent flex).
Since it is based on ECMAScript, it offers nearly everything JavaScript does and more. Classes, Inheritance, Polymorphism, both dynamic and static typing, etc, etc. And some things I find truly awesome such as the EventDispacter pattern and DisplayObject event bubbling.
So what are the chances of ActionScript being considered for something like this? Are there legal hurdles that make it a non-starter?
Also, how does this compare to other OSS flash players like Gnash? Conceivably this could solve the biggest problem with Flash, the lack of security involved when the player is proprietary.
**Yes, Adobe stagnated and got lax about security as well as bundled toolbars with the plugin as well as other privacy implication with SharedObjects. However, as a scripting and vector animating platform, Flash was amazing tech. And it makes damn nice RIAs and did great for video for its time. However it's clear that time is over due to some serious missteps on Adobe's part. So please don't get me wrong, there are many valid criticisms of Flash, but it was an innovative technology (and still is to a much less extent).
I was just thinking it would be nice to see something other than Ubuntu ported to various Android and other devices for a change. Like Mint or Debian. But your post gave me a chuckle, Unity really does make some sense on an N7. It was funny to see the author surprised at the Amazon home page in Firefox though.
The fix was in the nightly, not the bug. The bug has been there for months.
For whatever it's worth this is sloppy coding. As of ADT 20 there is an automatically generated java file called BuildConfig with a single constant DEBUGGING.
So the way this line of code should have been written is something like this:
if (BuildConfig.DEBUGGING) Log.v (TAG, "some logging info");
That said, this isn't exactly leaking bank details, it's a swipe gesture. It's good they caught it, but it's not a huge security risk unless you lose your device.
I think it's interesting that slashdot got it. Maybe there is no pure security out there, but clearly there are preventative steps that could help.
What bandwidth caps?

Isn't this what DNSSEC is supposed to help with? Key loggers and malware aside.... DNSSEC should, in theory, stop MITM attacks, no?
Deep? I'm lost.

So do you suggest a Hadouken or Yoga Flame?
Yeah, but the Moon deserved it. Have you seen the way it can hit your eye?

Granted, it's a clusterfsck of terminology that makes you wonder about priorities, but I think the parent was correct.

So you want http://the.internet.sucks.dibs/ ?
I just tagged the story "brown" in addition to "green".
Starts with a V and ends with PN?
Talk about double plus ungood.
Is that the plan that comes with rollover ungood? Free ungood nights and weekends?

Just wait 'till you find out what Cyanogen actually is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanogen :)

I believe they also dabbled in locked bootloaders which didn't help. While the root/rom enthusiast community is small, they are influential.
