According to TNG cannon Montgomery Scott spent like 70 years in a transporter buffer from the 23rd century. You think they could not keep a few paterns for the duration of any away mission with 24th century tech. As for knowing if a transport was successful they keep track of peoples to be beamed up by communicator and sensor. After all you do need to have a transporter lock to beam peoples up!
That where you're wrong the "entertainment industry" is not the "entertainment content creation industry" it the "entertainment content distribution industry"
They tried to screw with the trust issue for the past decade with fake torrent post and what did that got them a more close knit P2P community that leaned to spot the fakers a mile away!
If you make it harder for China to differentiate dissidents from pirates you end up with what kheldan just said Pirate will get dragged on the street and shot!
How hard could it be to put a small loop in the transporter software just before the disintegration function. Am no coder but it could look like this. "Confirm transport true or false repeat until true" For that matter since pattern buffer exist in Star Trek why do they even lose peoples on away mission?
On a serious note, I sincerely wish someone would beam me up.
Why would you wish that? Peoples who use that quotes need to realise that in Star Trek Tech to be teleported one need to first be disintegrated! Something that I always found to be a design flaw should you disintegrate after you materialised the copy not before your even sure that the process worked? That way if there a fuck up the "original" is still well and alive!
Yeah the ps3 came out with a browser and we been bitching about it ever since. Quite frankly when am using my ps3 I rather boot up my Iconia a500 than use it. This goes to show having a browser might not be a bad idea on a console but having the wrong browser is useless.
My Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 15 is pretty much plug and play with Ubuntu. The day I got it I must have played with W7 for an hour or so before I shrunk the partition in favour of Ubuntu and never really looked back. I believe it was Maverick at the time. Since then I must have booted Windows 7 around 10 times total! I don't know why I bothered keeping both W7 and it recovery partition. Maybe only to restore it to factory default if and when I decide to get a new laptop and sell the beast.
Wow like any computer lab that been going on for a while does not have spare keyboards, cable and shit. For the case well you can always tie the Pi program with shop class, art class or even CNC if you got one.
You think if the MMO is a success ZeniMax Media won't shy away from telling Bethesda to drop any work on another TES game to produce content for TES:O.
I think anybody naming Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 to say that Blizzard is not overly focused on WoW is disproving himself or herself. Because it took more than a decade to get from Diablo 2 to 3! By now if Blizzard had not been coasting on WoW success for the last 8 years we would have Diablo 6, Starcraft 5 and Warcraft 9.
Hell Microsoft should take it to the next level! Strip the OS to the barebone sell that for dirt cheap or even give it away and make everything else that not the OS modular with micro-transaction. Customers will get a snappier experience because Windows won't run so many useless shit in the background and likely a hell of a lot secure! On top of that Microsoft would make even more money because pirated copies will generate as much micro-transaction than legit. More to the point if you give the OS away you don't even have piracy problem. Give away the razor and sell the blades if it good enough for BIC it good enough for Microsoft.
Except I bet some big Corp may very well launch their own Hip Hop site since the FBI and RIAA just hobbled a small competitor for a year that leave a nice market up for the taking. That where the profit and also the corruption come in case like these.
You might think Microsoft can afford to lose more than 2 billions a year on Bing but that can change in a heartbeat. Another "Vista" disaster on the OS side followed by business moving away from Office and the lost will pile on faster than they can write them off.
When the last time you been offline? Seriously always on connection what a drag! I tell you a story about Steam after a few years of not playing CS and not having Steam running on any computer I installed it last Monday logged on my account and all my games were there. That the edge Valve got over other service with Steam. You buy something on Steam and if your account is still in good standing you can play it again half a decade later on some totally different hardware.
Then followed it by "Let go celebrate our freedom!!" Because let face it if you work for a place that fire via Email you work at a shit place and secretly wish to get fired so you can get the hell out of your contract!
You want to kill the used market make every game release a downloadable version way cheaper after two months. Problem solved! The industry will still get their first day sale in and peoples on a budget will still save money. B&M stores are getting screwed but let face it these guys are going the way of the dodo anyway. Also if you guarantee that whatever device you release later we will still be able to download and play the games that we bought from either PSN or Live in this current generation I think customers will feel a lot safer shelving money and bandwidth for Downloadable.
Plus if Google were to game the search this way they get into anti-trust and anti-competition territory while we all know Apple can do no wrong.

Personally I like deluge and it does blocklist. But that pretty much a matter of taste.

Ha! Haha, hahahaha, ...
Good one; just sayin'.

Actually by now Kahn should have already exiled himself to space!

The real news here is that someone somewhere was apparently shipping products OUT of the united states.
Mod this one up!!! lolll
Actually Amazon.com via their Global service is using DHL to ship to Canada now instead of UPS.

I never used the default look anyway. You're not really using Firefox if you don't customise the shit out of the UI anyway.

Well Hoover was into cross dressing so that not a big stretch! loll
