How could a KVM switch slow down your FPS? I could understand the video signal degrading because of the lengthened signal path but could it actually decrease the rendering speed?
Damm - I was going to post this one also!
Aside from the technical information we geeks crave, I think it was well written and interesting from a story point of view.
As a sufferer of a wrist aggravation I would have to guess that many of these types of problems are miss-diagnosed.
One morning I woke up and my thumb was almost completely numb. I went to see a doctor and one of the first questions he asked was what I did for a living. After I told him I was an IT professional the diagnosis period ended even though all the doctor did was a few reflex type tests. He told me to wear a brace when I slept and it would go away which it did, but I have often wondered if that was really the problem. I have problems with my mouse hand from time to time but not the other.
I think many people place way too much faith in the opinion of doctors. It's true I could have gone for a second opinion but I figured I would get more of the same.
The thing that gets me is it's not possible to copyright a song title.
How do they propose to block people from downloading artists who want their music blocked while accommodating the artists who want people to share their music?
I know this is beating a dead horse but it's just another example of how the artists are not the ones being serviced here. On the other hand, maybe the industry is just doing it's best to control a situation that is pretty clearly out of control.
The thing that really sucks is that for many, the choice is to sell out to the suits, or not be heard.
How many of you have made any kind of effort to support a local musician, painter, poet or fire eater? In my area, unless you band is playing Steve Miller covers, your gig is going to be in a coffee house to 6 people. I am not saying it's impossible to make a living soing such gigs, but, it's pretty hard.
Holy crap! Software with bugs?! I can't believe it!
A few posts mentioned reading bugtraq. A quick search on Google gave me several different sites.
Could someone nudge me in the proper direction?
Imagine the kind of technology NASA could create with the cash that Survivor/Millionaire/Who wants to be an International Space Station Astronaut would generate.
Would the interest generated by an increased popularity destroy pure research?
Why do these keep getting canned?
If Bill Gates wants to build IIS 2005.1 I say we let him.
(you wouldn't get me on it though)
NASA satellite crashes minutes after launch:

Why do we want this again?

I could not stop myself.
We dont have weekends or friends, we have THE SIMS!

It would be so ironic if they started purchasing back copies of 2600.
Damm I thought this was some sort of first post/goatsc.ex tool with a GUI.
"It might work or it might not."
Spoken like a true telco/isp tech.
There is video of the second plane on TV - anyone got a link?

Kids would get more of a technical education reading this web site. I was happy to see they are at least headed in a direction now...
