That being said, I think even Apple zealots would concede that the 97% Windowsfigure is solid for corporate/business desktops. Your friends are an extreme minority.
A more interesting stat would be for Mac-only type sites, like MacNN or MacRumors, and see how many Windows Browsers hit those sites... we might get an idea of how many Mac people are using Windows to view the web.
Not to mention some people can be a Mac user and still access web pages from other platforms more often.
I have to use win2000 at work.
I have a WinXP gaming rig.
I have a rig with a Win 2000 install
And a Linux install
And I have an iBook,
Despite being a 'Mac User' stats like the grandparent would say that I 'use' it less than 5% fo the time. Which is false. The majority of my browsing is on Windows and IE at work. So, you cant really count browswers or browser hits as equal to 'users'
For the die-hard Baseball fans in Slashdot land, You should really be over at Baseball Prospectus
Many of the new articles are for pay subscribers, but they do have one free article a day, and all free articles archived: Such as the Difficult Job Humans have judging the strike zone.
Hopefully this doesnt Slashdot the site, since I still have a few new articles to read tonight.
Nobody watches sports for the Vagaries of officiating. At least I hope not. I am there to watch athletes perform. (and yes, I consider Baseball players athletes)
Notice the super-precision of Olympic 100-meter dash timers. No one argues that it would be better to go back to a guy with a stopwatch. If a technological advance gives a perfect (or significant improvement) to the officiating of the game, then we should.
In the specific case of Baseball, for example, a human umpire knows when to call a ball as a strike because the batter is being a dick.
This is what baseball fans call an incompetent umpire.
I see Ender's Game and Cryptonomicon mentioned many times and I enjoyed them both, but to be different I will suggest some non-geek books.
Red Harvest, by Dashiell Hammett
and for a new book: Moneyball, by Michael Lewis

You know, I never did figure that part out.
But that is before I was used to looking for walkthroughs on the internet...
I dont see this as funny, Credit Card Companies do this already.
I had a card that I hardly used. One day in a binge I had bought some Stereo Equipment and some New Shoes (obviously not at the same store) The next day, the credit card called me to make sure that I had made those purchases.
So yes, if there is a spike on your credit card they will call (I am sure that Electronics and Shoe stores probably also throw up a flag for places where stolen cards are used)
I highly doubt the difference is 7% also.

Bush won the electorate, not the popular vote.
But then again, this is probably a troll.

Pyramid beer is brewed in Washington.

what a letdown.
Im pretty sure that you CAN use an external editor with eclipse. Unless of course that functionality is broken?
There most certainly is Egyptian beer.
And Stereotypically enough, it is called Pyramid.
It's a Pale Ale I believe, but I'm not beer expert.
You could have easily substituted Doom for the Studying... and still do the other activities. I know I did.
Depends on what hardware you speak of.
I dont even own a Mac, but I know that they use the Same RAM, HardDrives, and VideoCards that PCs do.
And I dont imagine there is necessarily a dearth of peripherials either (scanners, printers, cameras, etc).

Oh well.
Thanks Marge.
It isnt for the PS2 so you may not be able to use it, but the best Baseball game on the Market is Diamond Mind Baseball.
http://www.diamond-mind.com/index.html
However, It is a Simulator, you only control decisions, not actual swinging/fielding/pitching.
Their Previous Season disks cover an awful lot of team, almost all the Best Teams in history, as well as complete seasons.
Otherwise, you may look for some ancient Warez Version of Earl Weaver Baseball for the PC. That had historical players as far as I can remember.
Unfortunately, most of the recent Console Baseball Games have been crap. I am still looking for a Good one on PS2.
