that all living organisms need oxygen and nitrogen, and all that other good stuff that we have on Earth, to live? I'm fairly positive that any type of life can evolve in different types of environments. It just so happens that life evolved on our planet to deal with our environment. To look at things a little more close to home, there are creatures living on the bottom of our oceans that don't need sun light and don't need oxygen (or very little). Like those little tube worm things that live near vents in the ocean floor where the temperatures are hotter than hell (sorry...off the cuff post, didn't do my full research). Why do we always assume that differering conditions from our planet are unsuitable to sustain life? True, we have no clear cut evidence of life from any other planet, but then again...does this make it fact?
that those damn people at Blizzard not only killed all my social skills by releasing Diablo and Diablo II, but now I learn that they got me hooked even earlier! Damn all those BBS's I used to visit!!!
So am I the only one who thinks this looks like a lot of fun? I could care less about the 'firefighter's nightmare' site, but some of those pictures off of the cosplay site look really cool. I'm one of those people who always look forward to Halloween to dress up, but if conventions like they show on this site were around here (brrrr...wisconsin), I would totally be there! I'm not a total anime nut (I do own a nice stock of them though), but most of those costumes look great! And I'm willing to bet the majority of people who go to those conventions are exactly the type of people I like to hang out with. Any of you been to one of these? What was your experience?
so we get a few versions of mpeg4 with DRM attached. Doesn't mean we won't see those rogue codecs without DRM floating around just like we have tons of flavors of DivX codecs right now to chose from.
I seem to be having flashbacks of Michael Crichton's book Prey I don't see the real deal here coming any where close to the "dust" in the book, but maybe someone can start up a few rumors.
ummm...they're called synthesizers. Reading this story gives me cringing thoughts of those horrid keyboard-guitar hybrids from the 80's. If it's going to be digital then keep it on the good ol' horizontal keyboard synth. I like my guitars just the way they are.
Where the hell is the I'll see and then I'll decide? I've seen both sides of the arguments all day long and not one...I'll see what happens and then I'll make a decision. Yeah, there has been a shit load of hype about this thing, but let's at least give it a chance. If only bikes had a chance like this...
Ohhh, man... I use to have one that did something close to that when I was a kid. I have to stop coming back to this post because it's splitting my sides ( and everyone around me is starting to get worried about me just bursting out laughing every 5 minutes or so)
I actually have pretty much the same system as you have noted to run MAME/SNES/etc... emulation on my tv. It works great (although I still need to get a wireless gamepad). Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any idea if there are any video cards out on the market that can hook into a HDTV and broadcast in 1080i or even 720p. I also currently have an ATI Radeon 7000 using SVideo for the hook up, but if there is a way to hook up my box to my tv in high-res then I'm ready to pick up a new video card.
I'm starting to think that the force-fed commercialism that we've all been made to live in has tainted the minds of those that have squiggled their way into making decisions for us in this country (good ol' USA, sponsered by Pepsi)...if not the most of the rest of this world. I say...step back and take time to look at how much this world has turned into a huge advertisement and joke. While your at it, read Survivor. Chuck Palahniuk rocks!
Let's put it this way. I pretty much had to accept Windows(and it's Office apps) because that is what our University uses. I had no choice at the time to purchase a Mac, which I would have liked to do. As for doing everything I want it to do...hardly. I want it to stop crashing ever other freakin day. That would be nice for starters. If I had the money I would be sitting on a Mac right now. As for software support, I don't use microsoft products unless I absolutly have to. I'm a firm supporter of Adobe and Macromedia among other companies who do business on multiple platforms.
Just wanted to spill a little on what Billy had to say about the break-up. First off, he says that it isn't right to break-up a company because its products are so popular. Popular?!? The only reason I use Windows is because they they have a monopoly in PC land. I can't wait until Linux gets up to speed on the desktop and has a few more apps running on it. Next he says that they will continue to focus on making new products...hold on. I think Microsoft should shift out of 4th gear and try to bring their current products up to par. How many bugs did Win2000 ship with? I'll end with the one about the government not being specific as to what they mean by Internet Explorer. Ok...It's your product, I think you know what it is. Sorry, I just needed to get that off my chest. I didn't mean to ramble on.
My god this actually works. Now I'm wondering why I never thought of trying this before
Try highlighting something to search on first.
The last three stories have no # of replies on the front page. Am I the only one seeing this? Has slashcode been updated and got a few bugs? Anyone?

noone will ever need more than IPv4
Ever hear of anything going on in Chicago or Milwaukee?

Finally I have got something worth while off of this site...thanks for the sneakemail link.
