    I think it's irrelevant. Bush and Obama are/were both on board with this program. In this regard they're equally evil.

    Don't blame the currency, USD are used widely in the illegal trade. We are not blaming the dollar. Regulation might be needed.

    I think a key difference here is that there are plenty of legit ways to spend USD. There are probably more legitimate ways to spend USD than illegitimate. I'm sure there must be some legitimate way to spend a bitcoin, but I haven't seen any.

    Kind of seems a bit extreme for $7.32 (assuming you just started a year long contract). You could also go the route of just hiring some other dirtbag (aka attorney) and taking it straight to court if money is no object.

    Did you read the articles or the police report? She was mixing chemicals in a plastic bottle in the schoolyard near a gazebo. She was not in a science classroom, the science staff didn't know she was doing it. Her statement to the police was that a friend told her to do it, and she didn't know what the reaction would be! This wasn't a science experiment, it was a kid screwing around and doing something stupid; that is, she built and detonated a small explosive device at a school. What if she'd screwed up and caused a big explosion? I have to agree with GP; ggp is an idiot.

    It always annoys me how here, on slashdot, for nerds, we love technology and advances EXCEPT WHEN IT COMES TO BIOLOGY. Then it's nothing but "whatcouldpossiblygowrong" or GATTACA, or I am legend or zombies.

    Why do you have to go ruin his misguided rant like that? A rant that was entirely entertaining to read. A rant that is already a part of his government documentation... Of course, despite the fact that all other information which can be gathered about a person already is; the incredibly intriguing tidbit discussed in this article probably won't be.

    I do. I wish a tablet could run everything my pc can and could also be used as a portable touch device when I didn't want the 30" monitor, kb and mouse. It would be a dream come true. Processor architecture, along with severe performance limitations inherent to tablet devices are both major roadblocks.

    Are you seriously implying that touchscreen is the new, better method of input?

    What exactly do you do on a computer? Im gonna guess its not

    • Writing proposals
    • Writing code
    • Doing financial work
    • Doing systems administration

    Or anything, really, that involves rapidly moving data from your brain onto a computer. Or does the new Lightning connector have that capability built into it?

    You don't need a keyboard to post cat videos with your iProduct.

    Complying with company policy may be something as simple as using the term "person hours" instead of "man hours". I'm sure you can imagine a thousand similar examples in virtually any line of business.

    Yes. A "for-profit entertainment business exists for the purpose of making profit. A public service organization exists to provide a public service. A for profit entertainment business might happen to also provide some public service if they think it will help them make more profit. A public service organization (if it isn't declared a nonprofit, which they tend to be) might happen to turn a profit but their main goal is providing a public service.
