As I work for a tech firm I can loosely argue I'm doing part of my job while reading/. - keeping up with current tech related issues/events is part of my job:)
To be fair Samba is trying to implement protocols which haven't been fully (properly?) documented by MS. So some of the blame for Samba lies beyond the FOSS shores.
The demands of military grade computing are VERY different from the demands of your typical desktop/server.
Forget the tasks they're doing - those are essentially the same as you or I just for a different problem domain. The real issues are: thermal, power, 'ruggedness', tempest, EMP protection, parts being available for years (or decades by preference).
As I understand it I believe it was more than just using a fake name, she used the name of another teenager and deliberately set out as being that person... which goes beyond using another name as a pseudonym and into the territory of fraud/identity theft/deception etc...
Freedom does not/should not confer on someone the ability to cause harm to others by their actions, nor should it provide the freedom to ignore taking responsibility for your own actions.
Correction please: Why some of/. love her so much.
Personally: If this law is the only one they can find to get her under then so be it. Personally I'd rather it was something like manslaughter but this is better than nowt.
Err... Given AOL are still around, still make money, still keep going on despite the general view on them then I'd say they probably are a good guide....
(Ok, I know what you mean and no they shouldn't be a guide but your statement is slightly contradictory;) )
And from the TFA they didn't use a pirated copy. Someone broke the embargo on selling/giving the proper official boxed copy of the game prior to a set date.
Err... expensive? buy a tub of marine salt (the kind you use to mix for marine fish tanks) and dump the weapon in that for a few weeks - ideally heated and then place in a bag and leave to corrode...
Err.... if you want people to use the L2 signal on Navstar then you'd better get hold of the keys for it:)
Not sure either if the L1/L2 frequency shift alone will counter all affects.
(Actually not noticed a significant difference on our keyed/unkeyed gps receivers in the lab - all of which have the same signal feed (gps amplifier/repeater feeding the rf to each PLGR) since the SA was reduced to effectively 0 a few years ago.)

Actually low-viewing angle screens can be useful...
Everywhere: prevents shoulder surfing....
Work: prevents the boss knowing you are now on the 200th round of solitare...
Who to? Pretty much Pipex and Demon are the only two left...
Actually scrub that... Pipex are now Tiscalli
Demon is Thus.
Zen would appear to one of the few independent large players left...
Could I store wishlists in a text file, ascii ideally, and then store the file as a blob field in a database?
Or alternatively drop something large, explosive, and heavy on top of the US PTO to stop any more stupid patents being granted.
Err?
Why? If I'm in the sort of situation where I need to destroy my evil computer network beyond recovery I'm not going to hang around afterwarrds ;)
I'll be heading for the hills (or for the plains if I'm already in the hills).

Or better still - pack each PC with a small vial containing enough hydrofluoric acid to dissolve the internals ....
have trip switches which cause the acid to be sprayed from the container over the inside of the PC.
Good bye most bits of the PC bar any telfon or polyethelene bits (and it will dissolve most oxides so that should fix the HDD nicely)

This isn't really news...

Your linux iptables based firewall needs to sit between the Comcast modem and the rest of your PC's...

freedom?
Latitude?
Longitude?
Kelvin?
Farhenite?
Celcius?
seperation?
from a randomly chosen spot on Uranus?
from the trunk?
towards the trunk?
GIGO FTW
Nope, it isn't - just look how many servers from small mickey mouse jobs to big iron /. manages to bring to a quivering halt in matter of minutes ;)
I doubt therefore I am not?
That's the wonderful thing about standardised units of measurements - so many of them to choose from...
;)
Think we should all use lightyear/litre
which with 10l/100km is around 1.05702341 × 10-12 lightyear / litre
litre/100km is the usual measure for metric based fuel consumption figures.

FTP is not P2P - its client and server - the clients connecting to you are not peers they're clients...
I've had a number of Asus and Acer laptops:
3x ACERS - all dead now (including one that's only 15 months old)
3x ASUS - all three still working.
Guess which make is actually worth the money. (Hint: It is not the first in alphabetical order)
History has always been written by the victor...
The graphs are time taken in seconds to perform a task - so shorter graph == better.
