The worst thing IMHO is it shows a lack of imagination, that they have to steal someone elses work. They dont seem to deserve the funds if they cant even do this simple thing without cheating.
"Where does the idea of some people being immune to HIV come from? "
I cant give you the details but I remember reading an article about it in "New Scientist" so its not just an urban legend. I read it in the print edition but you might be able to find it on their website.
You should have made it clear that you wrote the article slashdot linked to (I only figured it out when I saw your URL is the same as the pix article). My post didnt mean your article, I mean Slashdots article.
Furthermore I was responding to the mention of smoothwall in my time honoured fashion of recommending IPCOP instead. You can untwist your knickers now.
"Why not write one then, mr genius?" I didnt need to, I discussed and linked to a good open source one. Now... what was your contribution to the discussion again?
I recommend avoiding smoothwall (search usenet for "richard morrell smoothwall" for more info..). Try IPCOP for a GPL fork of smoothwall that is not a hidden attempt at selling things and is GPL in spirit, not just name. This article shouldnt have been how to make a pix it should be how to make a legal, cheap, open source alternative to one.

Not really true, you can just submit your site to google and it will visit it (well.. within a few months and as long as its not a web nightmare). Links help but they arent the only way to get in. Once in, decent content will mean you will eventully get links as people find you - even if you start on page 10 in the results to start with.

Not all shoppers prefer the human touch. I often find the minimum wage lackeys on the other side of the cashier are slow and obnoxious. I'd like to buy everything from a vending machine. Of course then I will be stuck behind the woman who doesnt know how to use it and spends 5 minutes rummaging through her handbag to find some change.
Come on moderators, he is directly discussing the review (I.E this article). While you may find the comment boring, wrong or any other negative thing it is not offtopic.
Open Office on a 500mhz celeron PC was fast enough, I am surprised the other poster found it slow on a 600mhz mac. Hmm, think I can justify buying a mac just to test it?;-)
Perhaps it would have been prudent to say "we arent taxed that much more". I believe we are actually better off than other European countries though a comparison would depend on wages as well.
The company producing this has missed out on one thing, they should secretly make these and sell them at inflated prices on eBay!
Well, my spamfile did (thanks procmail) and I submitted it to spamcop and noticed they have a freephone number. Now I could ring up and it would cost THEM money, which is a little teensy bit of payback - but imagine posting that freephone number on a site somewhere where like minded people hang out. They could all ring up the number, cost the company money and tie up their staff by chatting to them about their product.
It might make them rethink their spamming.
Has this guy seen photos of Hiroshima after the blast? Those trains certainly weren't running 'a few hours after the bomb went off' if they were anywhere within a kilometer of ground zero.
Maybe hes truly bought into the "hey we did this to save lives, not because we are crazy murderers!" propaganda? One day some other country will decide to "stop the war" but it will be the US that is fighting against them...
Yes its cool sometimes but like rock and movie stars you watch/read an interview with them and realise "OMG this guy is an idiot" and you remember that then instead of the image they try to portray.
I remember Sandy from a forum and he was a dick on it (just my opinion of course), a shame because the Age of... games are super.
Hi. Please read the article, that would be more interesting for both us and you then just posting as quickly as you can.
Hmm, let me guess you are either not married or you ARE the wife
