  1. Knoppix is great. on Bootable Linux Demo Distro - Knoppix · · Score: 2

I have tried v 3.0 (3.1 is out now) and its amazing, boot up and a minute or two later you have a full, good looking gui and all the tools you can think of including things like open office (who needs lindows with its poo assortment of progs). A few minutes after that I was browsing the web using mozilla, playing my mp3s from a shared samba drive on my dedicated linux box and checking my email.
Tried it on a 256MB comp too and it ran fine there too, impressive considering it has no virtual ram and has to store tmp files on a ramdisk.
now all I need is a 35MB linux cd to fit these 35MB business card sized cd's I bought, all the rescue disc type distros seem designed for 50MB ones.

64 kbps tests are pointless because no-ones uses those rates, and at higher rates the differences become negligable.
Not quite true, I used 64kbps wma files for about a week and listening using really shitty earbuds and walking alongside noisy truck filled roads on the way to work I couldnt tell the difference :-) Now I have some decent portable earbuds though (etymotics) you wont catch me using 64k wma (or I suspect any bitrate of wma!).

I use one of those, on the plus side its so old and worn out that its a bit clackety to type on which I like. I now however only use the right side of the spacebar when i'm using normal keyboards.
I actually found the design offensive, by having half of the space bar a delete key they are insinuating that you will make one error per word (i.e you need the delete key as often as the space). The bastards!
Best keyboard I ever used came with IBM terminals, it had 24 function keys and was programmable. It clicked really nicely and was tough.

I'd love to, now what is a good replacement to windows media player? (I use 6.4).
