didn't the mindshare concept die with the dot com'ies?
i mean, counting eyeballs, mindshare... weren't these things that marketroids just sold us when we had money and no idea where to put it, and so those best at marketing directed us to nice approachable terms that reflected the 'newness' of the market, and inevitably led back to lining their pockets with our money?
It's not really a dupe but an update to an older story. The original announced that the watch would be out in the spring and this article is announcing that the watch is now available.
As far as the TV, I have never seen a TV or monitor interfered with by a cell phone...
I wondered whether or not I was alone in witnessing this phenomenon. Maybe it was something about my particular hardware models (Nokia 51-something-or-other phone and 19" Mistubishi TV) but that doesn't seem likely.
The weird thing is that I could actually tell when my phone was going to ring before it actually rang because the TV inteference would precede the ring by a second or two!
I also have a 19" Hitachi monitor that does some weird things when my current phone (Motorola 195cl) is next to it. It doesn't even have to ring to intefere -- I have 'hot spots' in my apartment as far as reception for my cell phone so it think may have something to do with constantly looking for a signal...or something.
It has been determined; that's the point of the item.
That much is clear. But why did it take so long to determine this? Cell phones are no longer a new phenomenon (and neither is using them on aircraft) so it would seem like a concrete determination could have been made previously.
It seems odd to me that there would be this much discussion on the topic. While it may not be a cut-and-dry issue it would seem that it could be determined rather quickly via research whether mobile phones cause interference or not.
Why go back and forth on the issue?
Note: Of course I don't know all of the facts on the subject so I could be missing something (different plane models are affected differently, etc.)

I discussed how much I hated some horror movie where his family was getting infected(I can't access IMDB right now).
If you can access it, you can also see his filmography here.

I'm surprised that Wil hasn't been on "Where Are They Now?" on VH1.
He may as well have been. He was on a similar show on ABC, "Our Favorite Stars, Then and Now," recently (May 8 I believe). He mentions it in his May 8 entry on his site.
That's weird because I believe Eminem, who is heavily involved with Dr. Dre, said that same exact line in one of his (earlier) songs (I think it was Kill You off of the Marshall Mathers LP but I'm not sure). I wonder if that is why he said it that way.
While they don't say that they were given 5GB iPods, they do say they 'were given 5GB of music on their iPods' so it sounds like they probably got the phased-out models.
Gees, I'm not sure how my original post got a "+5 Informative" because I didn't even include the link to the review I read! I mean, "+3 Insightful" or "+4 Interesting" I can understand...
Yeah. You gotta love the moderation. Taco had some ideas about ways to improve the moderation in one of his latest journal entries. Interesting stuff.
I'm surprised that I haven't seen more (any really) previews on television for Nemesis. Maybe I just haven't caught them but I usually catch at least one television preview for any given big-budget movie during it's marketing time. The only advertisements for Nemesis that I've seen have been posters in theaters when I'm out seeing some other movie. Am I the only one who thinks that this film may suffer from a poor marketing campaign? Heck, I didn't even know when this film was slated to come out until this./ story!
The site's moving slow so I didn't get past the home page at fanwing.com so this is probably answered on the site but what I want to know is what the uses of plane like this would be. The cockpit seems awfully small (again judging only by the image on the home page.)
Anyone know what the planned uses of this type of plane are?
While "Where y'at?" is common in New Orleans it is poor grammar.
So, what if I'm from New Orleans?
In hindsight my post probably was not appropriate but I had the fever of being one of the first posters so tried to belt something out quickly and this is the result.
This should be a lesson to all posters everywhere. See? I'm actually educating, not trolling.
One feature of IE that I really like is how previous entries in text boxes can be selected from a drop down list (like the list of previously loaded URLs in the browser location bar). It's very helpful here at work where I can easily pull up a list of previous searches to be re-searched.
This would seem like a good solution on the surface of it but the 'immersive graphical aspect of our applications' that was mentioned may mean Perl is out of the question.
Of course I've never done any graphical programming in Perl (besides Perl/CGI) so I could be wrong depending on the nature of the GUI.
As more and more phones have SIM cards won't this become less of a problem?

Do you have something against capital letters?

That's an interesting point but I won't be able to test this as I have neither the phone nor the TV anymore.
I am pretty sure that I had my phone set to vibrate AND ring all the time so I don't know whether or not it occurred when vibrate was turned off.
My phone (the Nokia) did vibrate and ring at the same time when this was happening.
I haven't tried (and probably won't try) what happens with my current phone (Motorola i95cl) and my current TV (Sony Vega).

Similar to when you get those noises through speakers when you have a mobile nearby.
Or the interference that happens when a cellular phone (especially when it rings) is near a monitor or television.
It has been determined; that's the point of the item.
