Does this mean that whoever whose data will be travelling across their switches will have to give credentials ? Does anyone else see the potential abuse it carries ?
Excuse me, Herr 99, but I thought it was IBM whose assets are much more important than Microsoft. Of course, they're more R&D than Microsoft (who also produce hardware - consoles, mice) but I guess very few companies that size would only rely on software.
Last month, they converted some of their assets in dollars, now they are getting away from USA's most fortunate software company ? Is there some policy here ?

No, it recently became limited to Free's subscribers but they have NOT closed the numerous accounts I opened prior to these limitations and I bet they'll reopen to 3rd party customers soon or late as they need the variety only such conditions may offer.
I guess the one who'll win will be the first to offer at least one GB with MySQL and PHP so that we can install our WordPress or DotClear ourselves instead of using their home made products...
...are all the hype nowadays ; as Microsoft don't make their own, they have to be present another way ; by making their software more compatible with it, by having their own shop, by having some hardware vendor selling one tailored after their specifications... Anyway, they could not stand 100% against theiPod as it already gained the public acceptance as "teh coolest".

I'm not sure these hard disc exist in such a form factor... IIRC, the current limit for this model is 100GB. You'd better use an external FW unit.
