I explicitely wrote about my code ergonomy : C++ is a language... Related behavior depends on the compiler as well as on the code cleanness. Now, I just prefer a language with which I can add different kinds of virtual objects using the fanciest syntax I may imagine instead of some rigid language like Java in which anything has to be.like(this).
I recently brought my Powerbook at work. I am a Unix Sysadmin. The only thing I had to do was to obtain a Microsoft Office License from the Business support division. Now, Entourage can connect to Exchange servers while most of my work is done using Word and the Terminal. It's really good to work using my favourite tool.
It lacks operators, seriously : when I had to develop my cellar for Qtopia, it saved me a huge time and code ergonomy to just use some operator to add new records to my db...
No. You're only discussing about a 15 year old frame, here : if Microsoft had switched to 680x0 or to the PPC 10 to 15 years ago (or any other reason that would have made the motorola platform a more dominant one), then it would have been improved in the same way than the x86 did but it would also slow down after gaining a monopole.
Now, Apple is backed by IBM and they already got G4, then G5 to run on multi-processor consummer computers. I guess, we're only in the beginning of this story and I consider the variety is what will keep our market evolving.
Sounds like some "Village war", indeed. Has Roblimo correctly understood the way XP works ? I personally enjoy the way one can navigate in text blocks using the arrow keys : My point is that XP has very good points. Yiou are not obliged to upgrade it, not even to let it check its updates availability... But well, I switched to OSX a year ago and finally got the best of both world : a decent GUI and a *nice* Unix engine. This story sounds like a troll. Couldn't reach the BSD part, though...
Maybe this is like a game of Civilization : when you reach its bottom, you get to its top and there are people around your universe who call you a process... So, this could be embbedded in a meta-universe which itself... etc. Remember the end of Men In Black (1) ?
I got my new Powerbook on Friday 3rd. I then called the AppleStore and after giving them my serial number, they told me it is eligible. I ordered the upgrade before he'd change his mind (he assured me Apple are not "these kind of people").
Well, QnDJ works with an iBook and Propellerheads Reason 2.5 and this (USB powered)... I think the ultimate power/portability/cost ratio has been reached for some time...
Otherwise, a cheaper but probably less autonomous PC using windows and FruityLoops could also do, of course.
Not me. My wife created some sites that she wanted to reference. 3 months later they still aren't because Google require them to be linked from elsewhere. So, if "Ti Mamm Doue" cannot help one to get to the http://www.timammdoue.org or Orchid's World can't help one getting to http://www.orchidsworld.com through Google, what will ???
(OK, I know that by entering this comment which will be indexed, I'll just trigger these sites indexation but I don't like the way it works at this moment : Google rely on linkage to index sites. A new, unrefered, original site, will never be indexed)
You know, the reason why the Chinese secret services are better than the US ones is that you don't even know the name of their secret agency while the fbi, cia and nsa's activities and methods are featured in half of the recent blockbusters.:) So, don't expect to read them like a book, I guess they have secrets you'd rather continue ignoring.
Though slightly off-topic (could have ben better illustrated), it reminds me of a friend of mine who, in 1995, used to sell radio-based internet services to third world countries. the most interesting aspect of his story is that he was not allowed to offer his genuinely original AND cheap solution in Europe because of bandwidth reservation and licensing... Anyway he might have retired before the dotcomcrash.
RiscOS could get from a cold boot to the GUI in less than 4 seconds on an ARM3/8MHz. I can't even measure it now on a StrongARM/202MHz, also consider the newest RiscOS powered computer : Iyonix (Xscale/600MHz)...

Worse than 1984 ? It seems to have gotten worse every year since Adam got kicked out of Darwin's test tubes for sharing a Macintosh with Eve...
You either have to live with it and consider its advantages or just to move to some seriously unequiped country in which case, I'd suggest Afghanistan where the progress is being overthrown by the fighters-formerly-known-as-Talibans...
Now, it's not because my house will contain some radio-waves emitting plastic sheets that BB will read it... And even if he manages to do it, I suggest some cancer-researchers take a look to its emissions while I'll investigate some potential bugs in my house (it's either short range or cancerigen, isn't it ?)...
How good is it? When it was shown to the public, some viewers experienced nausea because of the ultra realistic visual effect of speed without the usual physical sensation of movement. so what ? I experimented nausea 10 years ago while playing wolf3d. Now, I can play ut2003 on my plasma screen with no problem... I just guess they already were used to smaller definition immersions before...
I like the June-July 2002 trend : because of the Apache bug (which caused most admin to upgrade to 1.3.23, IIRC) some switched to MSIIS but within a month, even more switched back from MSIIS to Apache. Definitely convincing of how to deal with trollish stories such as the current one...

Our computers are binary
:)
mine is a Mac, so I expect whichever measurement unit it uses to be user-friendly.
Hi, read the web site : FYI, the charter was writtten with RMS's help so we actually considered what music's source code should be. :)
If music should have a compulsory license, why shouldn't movies, software, ebooks and other media also be covered by compulsory licenses?"
Whatever : GNUArt covers all.
According to the submitter : "As you might imagine, he's on our side"
So I guess he -at least- wants us to feel ok about him.
de la recherche et developpement, le mieux c'est de visiter cacko.biz et eqlab.org :)

Obviously, they would not risk to come to Belgium where Noel Godin would have "entarted" their faces like he did to Bill Gates ;)

So, just buy Laibach's latest (enhanced)CD and have fun.

I understood G4 until 1,25GHz can boot OS9.
Concerning game, I have UT2003 and Quake3 happily running on this ibook.
