Well, google may be rolling out a new form of ad delivery, but at least they are allowing people to know what to look for. The following is taken from their Adsense Beta page describing the sizes of the images:
"Google image ads are currently in beta and are available in 4 major formats: 468x60, 728x90, 120x600, and 300x250"
The good things now you can put these sizes into your content blocker. Unless you are like me, who is blocking every 2x2, 2x3, 3x2, 3x3 length integer names in the file names of jpgs and gifs, then you wouldn't have anything to worry about.
Oh yeah, don't forget about the 1x1, and the clear, and transparent gifs and jpegs, too.
That is true, but there is always Virtual PC. Granted it's not great, but every little drop helps. Though, I will admit it is probablly not the best way to utilize resources unless you run enough virtual OS to tax the system to death.:-/
Apple should give a set away to United Devices (Profit) or Grid. Both of these ventures specialize in distributed Cancer/Drug simulations. Let's find a cure for breast and prostate cancer!!!! Go Go Go!!!
Well, looking from the things that I have read so far for the hybrid cars is that you can definitely get better performance if you drive your car with care, i.e. don't over accelerate and slam on the breaks.
I for one already do do that with my 1999 Sentra GXE. It has a curb weight of approximately 2436 lbs. My weekly commute is just going to and from work of about 16 miles each way. Mind you that this is all city driving so I get the stop and go, though sometimes I do get the smooth ride of getting lots of green lights:-)
But driving like this, I've seen in the past that I get around 27-30MPGs. But when I go home, from DC to Va Beach, the mileage shoots up. The typical distance is about 210 miles and I can make that trip in less than half a tank of gas, which equates to about 40+ mpg. (I think I get around 42-45 but that is just a guesstimate).
Not bad though for a little tiny 1.6 liter that weighs almost 2500 lbs. Perhaps I should consider gutting the back seats and relieve it of some excess weight for more fuel efficency:-) hehehehe.
I bet I can probablly drive the Hybrid pretty well to max out its fuel efficency...anyone has one that I can borrow in the DC area?:-)
Drivers are getting better for ATI, but if they can get their Drivers to the level of quality that Nvidia provides, then we got ourselves a real wild west showdown.
You can't force someone to pay your royalties unless they actually use your technologies. Just because you set the royalties insanely high, and no one can pay, and finally opt for the cheaper solution, that is not a violation of anti-trust. For example, IBM had wanted vendors who implemented the MCA bus to pay a hefty royalty. Instead of making MCA devices, hardware developers opted for the PCI solution. IBM can't sue people just because IBM thought they had it in the bag. RAMBUS is just smoking the same crack, different day. Weirdos....:P
I would have switched majors to pre-law and come back 5 years later to sue that prof's sorry butt. And then I'd use his computer to download some illegal mp3s and get RIAA to dump on his butt, too.
Seriously though, that second prof sounded like a real nut...
I am not a physics/math expert, but assuming that dark matter does exist, it only proves that the equipment currently used has a sensitivity that is approaching zero, but not zero. But anyone who has seen a graph of an asymptope, it is not very promising especially if you push x approaching infinity. Even if you were to multiply x by 20, while you are out to infinity, by not knowning where exactly they are relative to the origin on the graph, a factor of 20 may not be all that significant...:-/
But at least they are still trying... and trying... and trying some more.
Well, I am not surprised about the boost/upgrade recommendations for Longhorn. Considering Avalon and WinFS look pretty complicated, and rather abstract, I'm not surprised you need all that horse power just to get the sucker to boot up. Don't forget, WinFS is supposedly being built on top of a rebuilt version of SQLServer. And Avalon is supposed to be a GUI made up a bunch of XML files. Crazy? Probablly.
I'd agree that it's a good question to be raised, but I have this only notion to ponder about: Debian. Debian is released on 10+ platforms. If you do a review for each Debian release, you'd have to at least multiply that review by at least 10+ times just so you can cover all the basis for the distribution branch for each platform.
Just thinking about the scope of that review to me seems incredibly daunting. With that in mind, we wonder why Debian is released in such a slow fashion? Well, I guess we answered our own question.
Though, it would be really a wonderful feat to read the 10+ reviews for each of the platform that the next build of Debian. If anything, the community of readers of the review would be enlightened in the ways/manifesto of the platform that each review was for. Not everyday you read about a PPC68k or ARM review of linux. Well, at least I know I haven't come across them.
We did this when I used to work for a LARGE online ad-delivery company. The company is still around. We did it not because the company asked us to, but we did it just to see what would happen if one browser with 13 iframes were trying to refresh every all each 13 iframes every 5 seconds.:P Needless to say, we had 8 web browsers, each with 13 iframes and all refreshing... it was quite interesting... lol:-)
Does Duke Nukem Whenever fall into this? I wonder what the game will be like, and what the cut-scenes will be like? I wonder what the story line will be about? But what I am wondering is when it wil actually come out?:P
I went the site, and I caught their redirect because my javascript was turned on and also becuase my squid blocked out their crazy ads. However, once I disable javascript, everything works great.
Hmm.... you got a good point. Though even if they change the pixel size, I can still block it. Whew!
Don't forget Windows NT does not support USB officially. So no USB wheel for you... :P

I wonder if they will write about their daily yummy free lunches that are served at google?
If anything, a free lunch is a good reason to work there!
Wow, I can't imagine what happens if someone writes a shell script and accidentally have it caught in an infinite loop.
:-)
Though you could put it in your cron job.

Good point. The exact thing that we maybe looking for could be just a flawed theory all together.... :-/
I would believe that is an compile error due to the lack of a semi colon :P

So who is going to take on this incredible feat?

This story reminds me of the line that was said by Zerocool from the movie "Hackers."
:-/
Mess with the best,
Die like the rest.
Apparently this is also a motto of the U.S. Marines. Though at least that is what google comes up with.
Does Duke Nukem Whenever fall into this? I wonder what the game will be like, and what the cut-scenes will be like? I wonder what the story line will be about? But what I am wondering is when it wil actually come out? :P
Now all we need is extended battery life, or add some more outdoor outlets so not to drain on my battery :-0

I'm using squid for realtime url filtering.
My Squid blocked out blues news ads.
Funnny. I can't even reach/read falkag because I had already had them blocked in my adblock/squid system. LOL! Oh well!
