Do you have bullet-proof legal documentation stating that you are the owner of any and every item that just so happens to be in your possession at this point?
From what I've seen of the US coverage - she's being portrayed as some kind of saint-figure. If she'd had any sense she'd have kept out of sight, not written the book (and thus avoided the chat-show circuit) and let the media circus subside. Meanwhile, the real victims - the Kercher family - barely get a mention... it's all about "Foxy Knoxy" and how terrible it is for her.
And, as ever, where the US leads the UK follows... the media have a lot to answer for.
Now is it double jeopardy when there was a trial, an appeal, and an appeal to the appeal? Next, the appeal to the appeal to the appeal! One trial - not two - so no double jeopardy.
If the roles had been reversed - the US would be busting a gut to get someone extradited. Two faced or what???
Unfortunately impossible I believe: a) on the grounds that they are never awarded posthumously in any case (there are cases where the award is offered, accepted, but the person dies before the ceremony where it is conferred); b) if I recall correctly - the title is lost at the moment of death as the person ceases to be a member of the order (though the public still, technically wrongly, use the title when referring to the person)
(That said... if the law is changed... I'd agree that there are few more deserving recipients - along with many others who worked at Bletchley Park)
And you miss mine.
Your birth certificate defines you.
It can also be faked.
Your Social Security ID is thus a fake.
Your driving licence is thus a fake.
Your passport is thus a fake.
You are not who you say you are.
At some point - someone has to trust something.
If your birth certificate is enough... then her death certificate, will, and solicitor's word is enough.
Do you have a birth certificate?
Can you prove you are the person named on it?
Remember - you can't use your family to back up your case...

What lawyers? Have you seen their accreditation? It's just a piece of paper after all...
There weren't iPhones either... doesn't stop someone praising Steve Jobs though...
(maybe I should have been clearer on that score)
Snake... surely?
(or is it all about the shiny...?)
Pot, Kettle, Black.
Out of interest - which side of the pond are you?

Like, you know, "everybody else" would have to do?
Unless they're Amanda Knox?
I was wondering about what the timing of it all was... I assume we in the UK can sue Obama for damages from the War Of Independence too...?
I give you the UK right now... a coalition nobody in their right mind wanted, with the "third" party selling itself for a taste of power...
Now what are you going to do about it?
Nuke Washington from orbit... it's the only way to be sure...
like most democrats and even some in the gop, president obama is a big government socialist
Socialist my arse!
Obviously a new definition of Socialist of which I was unaware ("slightly less to the right of 'centre' than the other guy")
(With, as always, apologies to D.N.A...)
I did...
They'll be claiming it causes cancer next... ...and a fortnight later it'll be a universal cure-all...
(repeat ad nauseam)
Is it home to Romanians and Bulgarians (who are also stealing your job)?
Where the US leads, the UK inevitably follows...
Fair point - I'm guessing though that the content in question fell foul of some ancient size-based rule from the early banner ad days?
Host your own ads - make them unobtrusive - people will still see them AND the content.
Being lazy and outsourcing it to others... you get what you deserve.
Ad infinitum...
Yes I know this place is US-centric - but sometimes it would come in handy for the rest of the planet to be taken into consideration once in a while.
That said - if it helps explain the US mindset to the rest of us, then it may be of some use...
I think it's one thing to recognize a person for their achievements, and quite another to worship them after their death
Tell that to the followers of the Cult of Jobs...
These good enough?
