I have to agree to a certain extent. At what point did any of these 5000+ people say "hey this is wrong?" Apparently none of them. That's pretty sad. Yes, quitting on ethical grounds sucks, being out of a job you had because you quit sucks, but I'm sure a lawyer would have loved to take that case against WF. But its not an easy decision to make. Pay the rent, or quit because of 'ethics'. I can see how some people would have a problem with the latter in order to keep doing to former.
Wait, the 'tax' is on ride-sharing services that 'cannot pass the tax on to the riders'.. How is that going to be enforced? How will anyone be able to tell a $0.20 increase in their fee without detailed analysis? Are you going to do that analysis while riding in a taxi for 10 minutes?
Anyone else notice that only 25% of the fee is going to support the local Taxi service... Where's the other 75% going? Does no one do any research on these fees and see that they are simply a money-grabbing scam for the government? Isn't Charlie Baker a republican? Aren't they again taxation for small businesses and 'the little people'? Since when does business A have to pay a tax to support business B? How is that the 'free market' republicans claim they support? Wouldn't it have made more sense to reduce or eliminate the government-forced payment system that the taxis use now, in order to better compete in the emerging ride-sharing service? The governments solution to competition is to tax the better-setup system? CRAZY! Oh wait, its Massachusetts... No wonder I left 15 years ago..
Sorry guys, Baker (R) is really Baker (RINO).
Why weren't these made in the US, instead of in France then shipped over here? Nonetheless its a good idea to use ocean wind farms to supply power, its basically free energy.
You are correct, but the office still deserves respect. You can be critical and scrutinize the Office and still be respectful. Doesn't change the fact that Twitter censored unfavorable comments.
Not to refuse what you posted, but I have seen both good and bad unions. I think the 'ideal' union is like the 'ideal' government, and both are the same as the 'ideal' gas law: that is, it works on paper but that's not how the real world works.
According to the Department of Education, US Government spending on education since 1980 has quadrupled. Also, according to the Cato Institute, Federal spending on a per pupil basis (inflation corrected) is over 190% more now than in 1970.
Privatizing student loans was a result of Sallie Mae becoming a private establishment in 1997.
"Fees", aka: tuition, for University of California was established in 1960, 8 years before Regan was governor. He did however continue the trend and in 1968 the "fee" was $150; by 1975 when Regan left, it was $630 (tuition information from the History of UC, the Daily Californian blog).
So no, college inflation was not brought on by "Republican education cuts". And student loans were made private in 1997 under Bill Clinton, however noted that this process was finalized in 2004 under George Bush.
You want to make this a "Republicans-are-evil" thing by the tone of your post, but its not that simple. The free money to colleges and the "need" for a college degree are what drove up the costs. That is neither a Republican nor Democrat thing. Government spending on higher education has increased so much that the colleges were getting free money in the forms of grants and loans, so they kept increasing their tuitions. As more and more people opted to go to college, like you and your wife did, the colleges kept getting paid. So why would they lower the cost? If there was an increasing in demand with a fixed supply, then the only thing that can happen in increased costs. That transcends republican and democrat policy bias.
Why is that crazy? Wouldn't you want to be able to do something, just to show yourself that you can do it? Didn't you want to graduate college to show your parents that you can do something you set your mind out to do? Why is that crazy?
I do my own brakes. Done them in all my cars and family cars. Takes me about 1.5 hours to do the front and rear if I mess around. I spend about $100 in parts (rotors/pads) sometimes more for my GTO (higher performance parts). I have a fancy torque wrench that I bought for many reasons, one being the ability to torque the lug nuts and brake caliper bolts correctly. A friend of mine got soaked for $550 for a brake job on his 8 year old Camry. I told him I would do it for parts + a sub sandwich and soda. He declined. Brakes are a very easy to replace part for the DIY mechanic with basic tools, as outlined above. Please remember the jack is not for holding your car up, that is the purpose of JACK STANDS.
Stating facts as facts. Also, ad hominem attacks apparently work both way for you. You cannot say the poster lost credibility when he used ad hominem attacks and then sum your opinion with ad hominem attacks. Credibility is lost in both directions.
The military oath specifically states to defend the Constitution against enemies foreign or domestic. Also, the Constitution specifically allows the people to dissolve the government and setup a new one if the government doesn't meet the needs of the people.
I agree with your statement, however I believe by being extreme, his views are expressed and by the time its gets watered down to the 'real world' workable level, his extreme view would not longer be extreme. I think that is the point. He wouldn't be able to eliminate all those agencies, but if laws were passed that curtailed or cut funding for them, he said he would sign it. This implies that congress would actually go along with his plan. We know congress is about as useless as tits on a bull though..
I donate to Goodwill all the time. I shop there for their selection of electronic goodies I can buy for a buck or three. I care less about making $20 on an old printer when I can donate it and take the write off and have someone else buy it and use it for $5. Even if the write off is $0 I still donate to the Goodwill because as stated before its out of my house and someone else can use it.
I routinely have 250gb of music files and projects on my working laptop. As a musician I keep that much music. My iTunes library is about 10gb though. So it's not totally uncalled for that someone would have a huge amount of music if they are a composer.
Dude, if you could make all that happen you got my vote. Problem is that common sense (your approach) doesn't work in politics. But I agree with the simplicity of your plan.
You shouldn't even reply to anyone who says the unemployment rate is 5% they are a lost cause and live in la-la land. The rest of us known that 50% of the population doesn't work for whatever reason, which ultimately is unsustainable.
+1
Also, isn't the black hole a point because the math doesn't work quite right? I mean a singularity is basically infinity and in math an infinity is caused by math that is not quite right or accurate enough.

Well... No one cares about you, until THEY DO. Like a lot of people, it's not my problem so who cares.. Until it IS my problem..

Totally seems like a joke, tongue in cheek type of thing. "Oh the Russians can friggen find them I bet!"

Good point. An old 1972 Camaro that you think is awesome is still awesome whether it's 10 years old or 50.

+1 I played that game so much, and Leonard Nimoy narrating... Amazing.
Assault Rifles are already banned. Any weapon that has selective fire (assault weapon) is already banned from public use. Since 1936 I believe.

He posted an opinion that was not liberal. Liberals are very tolerant as long as you ascribe to their group think.
Actually those Highways called and wanted the DPW to fix the fucking potholes.
