I don't know the merits of this particular deal, but it never made sense to me that "car makers" really cared one way or the other about the fuel costs (and the SUV craze has borne that out...)
They'll make anything that sells. Consumers do not care about gas prices, or rather, can live with higher gas prices in order to have their big cars. The SUV format is the government's fault when they tried to regulate fuel consumption.
Notice how small cars are the norm in Europe, Latin America and Asia (consumer preference)
You should reevaluate then the whole issue of public education. It is bad in Mexico as well as in the U.S. Why? Because it is public, and because there is no stimulus for improvement, because it is hampered by government intervention, and by a drive to equalize our children.
Public school is worse than the private stuff everywhere.
Disclaimer: I have lived in Mexico and Venezuela my whole life.
No, he makes the reasonable assumption that some bureocrat does NOT know better than you. If government screws up, they don't go out of business.
There would be private, optional certification for drugs, with actual legal accountability, competitions and responsibility. In the same way that you do not trust your judgement to diagnose yourself or to give yourself legal advice, you would get help from a brand name, an independent quality asessment firm, or any other provision originated in the market.
If you have an "enemy" that doesn't play by your rules, and out breeds you, you will lose in the long run. Eventually they will simply out number you, and maybe even just "vote you out", without a shot fired.
Of course you did not meet those who oppose the government, because they're either killed by a firing squad or in jail. If those you met opposed the government, they'd be too scared to tell you anyway. You met those who came to accept their poverty as something not caused by their government, but by "Yankee Imperialism"
Even if there were no embargo against Cuba, citizens there don't have freedom to produce or exchange goods, do business, or own any means of production (and even a backyard raised pig is considered so). They can only produce as far as they are employed by the Cuban government; and the Cuban government maintains a policy of "austerity", that is, poverty for everyone but party officials. Even if you could buy them, you won't be sold imported goods in government run shops(everything is run by the government), or a cellphone, or use any of the services intended for foreigners only.
The US may not be the land of the free, but comparing Cuba favorably does not lessen the fact that Cuba is a ruthless communist dictatorship that cares very little about their own citizens.

Then dont pretend that Python is an all purpose programming language
and admit/accept it for what it really is : An overhyped, scripting
language, a better PERL in some aspects if you will.
It *is* a general purpose programming language. Well, it is as well suited to 3d games programming as C is to a web application; and nobody would dare to say C is not a general purpose programming language.
I know you said "all purpose programming language", but then again, for that matter no language is "all purpose" (not even all-purpose flours are really that)
Based on my own experience, I wouldn't say Python is overhyped, and it IS a MUCH MUCH, MUCH better Perl (I used Perl for 2 years, discovered Python and never looked back.)
You called Python a "scripting language". What newer language or implementation runs on the bare hardware, or the bare OS Libraries, apart from C/C++... let's see: Java? nope, VB? nope any.NET Language? NOPE You see a pattern there?
Why should we tune the ecosystem to our own benefit, when the planet has gone through things like ice-ages which have only served to refine the life here?
Cause we are expected to be diligent about becoming the fittest.
While that is true, the inequity would be sharply curbed if you couldn't make money from the labors of others. It would be within an order of magnitude, not six of them or so.
And if, for some reason, you could not do labor, you'd starve to death.

Greetings to London, there!

Going in the same trend:
Fascism == Communism == Socialism == Totalitarian State
The political implications of trying to impose a plan on everyone is a totalitarian state. It is the only way it can be done.
Social Democracy == watered-down Socialism == PITA Regulations == High Taxation + Welfare
None of them brings freedom to the individual.

Yeah, that would be interesting. As for the time being, we are marsiforming Terra.
Looks like you're vaguely in the U.S.
An aquarium of mermaids is hot per se.

That's it. I'm writing a program that will determine that. I'll post the code to /. as soon as it's done.
Funny, we speak of la reina Isabel II.
