>They hope to quickly build high-speed broadband networks in communities with low unemployment and heavy demand for such services
So they're getting into the telecom business? And they expect the people they will compete with to build it for them? I smell agenda... uh uh... money... uh uh... opportunity! Yeah! That's it.
In this semester's course on journalism we'll learn a new technique. Instead of saying "is xxx dead?", like you did in Blogging 101, you'll learn how to reword it. We'll learn how to claim both that xxx is dead and we'll learn how to pick someone to blame it on! Controversy is always good, even when meaningless.
mysql will let you choose a storage mechanism that doesn't pay the overhead of ACID. Sounds like the same old tired **** I've heard over and over. "Just rewrite xxx using xxx and it will solve all the problems." Sorry dude, it's a difficult problem and there aren't any easy answers.
In spite of what certain yahoos, who might even pay you not to go to college, there is a world beyond computers. You may need math, physics, psychology, and politics. You still have to deal with people to get and keep a job. Knowing something about what the software is used for will help
Game devs use a formula that works because... well... it works. Duh.
The devs don't have any control over the games. The guys with the money do,
This guy has read all kinds of things into what happened and made up an interpretation for them that hasn't much connection to reality. Earth calling Major Mike...
"How come that guy is getting a better price than me for the same thing?"
People have built in subroutines for detecting inequalities in treatment.
Sounds like a guaranteed way to make sure almost everyone is mad at you
Thanks! I wondered about the quality of this thing. I recently went looking for one of these. Of the ones I tried on Ubuntu they were almost completely worthless. Crash a lot, can't read anything but a one format file from cameras, the interface is so horrid only the author can figure it out, etc.
If a child isn't motivated to succeed then it won't really matter what their IQ score. They will never do well. They'd be a lot better off measuring impulse control.
Are you a real tech head or just in it for a high paying career?
A tech focused individual should change jobs. They are almost certainly very poor managers and almost no companies offer promotions unless you go to management. It's a common misconception but their knowledge of technology does not make them a better manager.
I've found that people who want to use a different language do exactly what you've said. They list every reason why they should switch. Unfortunately they do not also list every reason why they should not switch. Then they get mad when nobody will listen to them. There's also nothing specific about C++ in this argument. I've heard the same argument for other languages and for rewriting the applications in the same language. Many programmers ignore sound business decisions because they don't bother to try and understand them or think they're protecting their livelihood

Mod up! He needed something to write about so he manufactured something. He did a variation of the journalism 101 "Is xxx dead" story.

sewage->compost->plants->cow-> STEAK!
Who would eat this slop? What a waste of money and time

Attacks are much easier when they have physical access to your data. I have no guarantee Google can or will keep my data safe.
With chemistry based methods you can crack most codes much more quickly: http://www.aeili.com/category/dna-computing/
Journalism 101 template: "Is dead?"
Journalism 201 template: retitle Journalism 101 material: "Is there a new trend against ?"
Congratulations on graduating to your second semester of Journalism school.
then you're already half way to failure. A buzzword does not equal success and will not eliminate the need for hard work. Welcome to the real world.
And make a distributed artificial heart? I hope I'm not the only one who thought of this...

Windows wasn't designed for automation/server tasks. I predict lots of pain in your future.
If you aren't motivated to do something you won't ever accomplish anything.

Why not simply follow the guy around with a decent receiver?

You forgot the part about fighting off dinosaurs. Ah the good old days.

A careerist should take promotions to management.
"It was less than 10 dollars, so a real bargain. But I would have reconsidered it if I heard of this beforehand."
To summarize:
Turns off honest potential customers.
Doesn't cause the pirates to buy a copy.
The author/owner publicly outed himself as someone who isn't after the money. Seems more like this is to enjoy hurting others.
Sounds like someone I want to give money to.
I didn't see any video of a working test model. If this guy doesn't have a working model he's got nothing.
When it fails the employees will start finger pointing at other employees. Great way to destroy your company. Bad idea.
They may have "lost" but lets please not lose sight of the awful things they did just so they could make money.
