When I was a graduate student at Yale my advisor was a dude by the name of John Fenn. Very energetic and not at all ready to retire at 70. However he was forced into retirement and smaller lab spaces because of ageist university policies. At 70 or so he completed work on a GC-MS technique that won him a share of the 2002 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
That technique was key to the development of protease inhibitors.
In my previous job I had customers who were deathly afraid of GPL to the point where they would not allow me as their supplier to use any open source code in the products I supplied regardless of what the license was or if it saved money.
For these people anyway GPL was a real impediment to the acceptance of open source.
HMS Sheffield - not a carrier HMS Coventry - not a carrier HMS Ardent - not a carrier HMS Antelope - not a carrier MV Atlantic Conveyer - not even a warship
Basically these were ships operating in reach of shore airbases without proper air defenses. Something a carrier is unlikely to do.
600 gallons over the state of Texas is an absolutely trivial amount of napthalene considering the volumes of other sources of this material.
US consumption of napthalenes in just the form of pthalic anhydrides and naptalene sulfonate is on the order of 200 million pounds per year. 600 gallons is about 4000 pounds.
And this doesn't count the legions of other sources of this class of materials.
I agree that the shows that you are citing are undiluted crap. However in the context of current TV where there are hundreds of channels of alternatives many of which are not anywhere as bad, plus the availability of the internet do a great deal to ameliorate the situation.
Imagine a time where there was no internet and there were ONLY three channels, all belonging to the national networks.
Basically the value of a share of stock is determined from a discounted cash flow analysis of future earnings of the company in question. Since this analysis includes an estimate of the growth of the company any change in the growth outlook must then in fact affect the value of the stock.
1989 Camry LE ECU failure - relay contacts would weld shut damaging the door solenoids. There were no cases where all 4 solenoids failed and the windows were still functional.
I am 60 years old so I grew up in the era of there being only 3 TV channels and a educational TV station showing classroom style programming. The message of consumerism was far stronger and less diluted then than it is now.
This was far less diverse than what is available today, and yet when the time came we were ready to rise up in protest.
I really don't see an issue with the media today. The breath of opinion and education available is staggering in comparison to what is was.
You are free to argue that these should be changed. If you find them unbearable you are free to move to some place that imposes less on it's citizens. Like say Somalia.

20 year incentive plan including no taxes for first 10 years.
> They sell marked-up shiny.
The innovative part is doing that so well that they are the #1 company in the world by stock market valuation.

Russia was well known for their quality aircraft carriers.

Ludicrous.
Uh, the EPA has ruled that there is no problems with the Dimrock water.
Fracking has been used in the oil industry since 1865. It hasn't caused drinking water contamination yet.
Lead and napthalene are present in everything including mother's milk and rainwater as minor ingredients.
It really IS necessary to look at what the actual concentrations are rather than just spouting off 'oh my it contains xyz which is toxic.'
Otherwise you are just spouting nonsense.
17th century tho.

And if you are smart you will take advantage of this irrational short term dip in Intel's stock price by purchasing some INTC shares.

There was a recall in 1992 for this.

Your car drives you to a remote location, locks your doors and refuses to relinquish control until you buy $1000 worth of generic viagra.
This is probably the highest priority technical effort going on in the world today.
The problem is that some cases of jury nullification can be viewed as encouraging undesirable behavior. For example see "Lorena Bobbitt".

Many trades require licensing IF the person involved is going to offer their services to the general public.
Licensing provisions do not apply anywhere as often if the person is going to practice the trade as an employee.
Don't forget the bury-it brigade also likes to mod down the correction along with modding up the lie.
