As I see it, theres already a quite useful and working system for eBooks thats like iTunes, but for books, and thats webscription.net, although there is one big difference, NO DRM. I've personally been using this website for a few years to get ebooks, It started off with only one publisher (Baen) but lately it seems to be branching out with other publishers as well (although slowly). It doesn't have many different genres of books, but it is selling current and future releases and offers large portions of the books to preview.
hopefully the cbc will completely change over to Ogg format. Its difficult for older computers (like the one my parents have) to play media cleanly through Windowsmediaplayer as its a resorce hog, and if they want to do anyhting else while listening it gets choppy.
im personally glad for the graphics cards that are giving us crazy frame rates for 2 reasons...
1) all my games llok really good
2) i can keep my card for a long time without needing to replace it every two months when a new game that's better looking has more polys and plays ata a higher resolution comes out.
Well it's true that Mononoke Hime didn't do well in the theaters, but you also have to consider that, it WAS a limited release that focused only on a few (less then 100) thesters in the country. If Anime gets only limited release's all the time of course they arent going to make any money.... especially when they aren't really advertised.
Well lets hope that the companies that make handhelds, see that there IS a market for handhelds that run linux or at the very least can be made to run linux (not everyone may want linux on their portable.. i dont see why though) otherwise this is an interesting factor to look for for those of us that want to get a handheld but dont.
well i remember reading somwhere that all the original relase playstation 2's was lacking or had a "feature" to turn off the region code. And with the amount of people that bought the PS2, region encoding aint gonna work real well.
Well considering that Blizzard already has sold 1.5 million copies just with the pre-order and my estimate that at least another million will get bought in the first month, thats more then halfway to the 4 million mark, and theres still 3 months to go till september.
from what ive read so far it seems that for some types of computing doing it mechanically is faster. So if we shrunk the size of the mechanical computer down, would it be possible to have have a working computer that we could use the same way we do do the ones were at now?
