Phantom II. There was a sturdy beast. A friend who was ground crew talked about picking small trees out of what landed, replacing unheard of percentages of missing wingspan and getting them back in the air.
I've also head it reported that the sum total of criteria for certification to flight, for things going on a Soyuz, can be "did the check clear?".
My bad. It was too small for RhodeIslands and I didn't have a conversion to smoots. Turns out it's 0.895 smoots. (Honest to god the google search calculator did have this.)
Works on horses in a pinch. Vet wrap isn't much for a cut on the back when you're on the trail and the patient stands 15 hands. Of course we never let the rider live that one down.
Recall that: that was not a human ear (the cartilage cells were from a cow) and it was in the shape of an ear because it was molded that way, not because any genes in the structure were expressing for "human ear".
It is a neat way to grow cartilaginous body shapes, and isn't a bad starting point.

He should have consulted a whole raft of references to find out just how much has been done and how much is known.
This is typical PHB behavior and along the lines of "We have to build a roller coaster - why can't we just use old railroad track and some Yugos?"
A leadership based remark would be more like "we have good reasons to believe it's possible - and for the sake of these kids, we'll find out just how."
...and then had to go back to eating meat for health reasons, namely the health of the people around me who were in severe danger of being flattened at the merest mention of a juicy, succulent, cast-iron-seared and oven-finished rib-eye.

I can't recall the comedian, but someone once noted "Why do vegetarians need to make their food (tofu pups, veggieburgers) look like meat they simply wont eat? You don't see monks keeping blow-up dolls just hanging around."
On the one hand, Ben Stein usually presents what seems to be a finely developed knack for insight. When I saw the hints of the trailer I figured he would come down on the side of rational thought and this would be an indictment of ID/CS. Then the trailer ran through to the end.
Yikes.
On the other hand, maybe he gets the debate on the front page in a popular vein. Could be time for him and Dawkins in a live MTV cage match.

Or maybe it's a bureaucratic matter-antimatter reaction. Yeah, please tell us how that conversation goes. Something tells me you won't be able to record it.

I didn't say he was right, I claimed he often seems insightful.
The Nixon stuff would be the part not covered by "usually".
