Then I've got to ask, what makes you choose republican as your party? I would guess fiscal conservitism and small government, but has Bush lived up to any of that? Have many republicans? Please don't construe this as an attack. I'm a fiscally conservative and small government Democrat.. ironic no?
I'm pretty sure there has been some discussion of that. Dave Winer (scripting.com) has talked about a universal ID for blog posts, but things are very preliminary.
If you read the article, you'd see that they use a combination of open-source and proprietary software to accomplish the job, whatever worked best for the situation...
I also think bicycles are better of on the sidewalks actually. Right after I was "bumped" by a car while riding my bike and dislocated both arms stopping my face from smashing into the pavement. Belong my lily white ass:).
Though like you mentioned they aren't suited to either really. We need a cultural shift but it's not gonna happen. If wishes where pennies and all that.
Seqways belong on the sidewalk more then the road, it's a worstcase of a broken arm if you hit a person on the road, if someone hits you riding a segway with truck, your road pizza. Because the segway can go 12mph, doesn't mean it WILL always be travelling at top speed.
Dunno, the idea is nice but our society doesn't fit it well, it could work in NY and other very dense cities but few other places.
SVG is currently very limited, poorly implimented on the plugin side, and slow as fuck. No where near ready to take on Flash. Someday maybe.

Because death is a part of travel. We drive cars that kill thousands a year, you die crossing the streat, tripping and all that. Everything has a risk value. This one doesn't seem to be any greater.
A movie is not a book, it has different requirements for being well made, books can take days to read, movies, even a long one can not exceed 3 hours at a stretch. You can't cram every line of dialog with every scene and every moment word for word from the book. Cuts must be made, budgets met. From what I hear, they did a good job keeping the spirit of the movie alive. Give them credit.
I could forsee this becoming a privacy issue. "Lets get a chip in each car, pop a serial number then can be read from a setup system." The potentail is there to do bad things. Track who is going where. Blackmail, and invasion can't be far behind.
Not to be an ass but...Almost no freaken sites would pass strict W3C-standards. And if they did. They would look like crap. Even IF standards where adhered to in ANY browser 100%. Yeesh
I wrote an article about my solution. http://brightrocketdesign.com/blog/post/dont-just-sit-there-getting-fit-with-a-treadmill-desk

And blocking cookies from google will also help a bit (though I'm not sure how much).

Yahoo has been doing it for awhile actually. I imagine it would be fairly easy. Read Up

That's nice for you but it doesn't fit real world requirements for many applications. Both entertainment and interaction based.

It's a codename, not the final product name as in the other examples you stated.
:)
