They've taken out all the fun of the "imagine a beowulf cluster of these..." by putting it in the article itself...DARN YOU SLASHDOT! DARN YOU TO HECK!
This is one of the reasons why I love linux: It's so down-to-earth. The early versions of the gentoo installation instructions told you to play Bom-Bad Racing on the PS2 while waiting for it to set up. It's nice to see people laid back. Can you picture Microsoft doing this?
For those of us in the defense industry, it's mandatory that we get a phone without a camera on it. If you are working in an Open Secret area, you will be fired on the spot if you don't. I suspect that while that rule is in effect, phone manufacturers will always produce a camera-less version, lest they lose defense industry contracts.
I was skeptical after the first trailer came out. However, this one looks just as good as the first, if not better. Looks like real character development (*gasp* *shock*). I also liked the character of the editor of the Daily Bugle. Looks like another weine...er...winner....Cluster bombing from a B-52 flying at 30,000 feet is HIGHLY, HIGHLY accurate: The bombs ALWAYS hit the ground.
In Woodland Hills, CA, there is a mainframe that contains all the medical records of every event that has ever taken place in the state. (I used to work IT there, and I've seen it...farkin' impressive piece of machinery.)
They TRIED to convert it to a more conventional system, but they couldn't, due to the fact that no database on earth could handle the sheer number of records.
I hope this shows up some of the actual "research" that goes on before some of our duly-elected officials vote to restrict things "for the children".
C'mon people, when you restrict car's emissions but allow barges to come in unchecked, you aren't really helping me breath easier. (FYI, each barge that comes into port at Long Beach and Los Angeles puts more pollution in the air than just over a million cars.)
I don't thinks so...I think the SEC thinks we are a bunch of miscreants trying to cause trouble. The fact that they haven't done anything is a problem. What we SHOULD do, is make a coherent case on Groklaw, and refer the SEC to it. PJ could supervise to make sure it is secure.
We had to make HF frequencies by hand! In the Snow! Uphill both ways!
"Honestly mom, that pr0n was just going THROUGH my device. I think it just got stuck!"
I thought they had this now: Isn't it the "Opt-Out" thingy?

I remember this about 2 years ago...has anything changed since then?
Firefox is Mozilla without the email client, right? It can accept the same modules/plugins and everything, right? Or am I way off?
Darl's going to turn around and claim that this is proof that the Linux Business models don't work.
It's a frickin' database!!
in the 3 minutes it said that it was gonna take to down this initially, I went from 273 kB/s to 101.

They are Extremely power-efficient unless you are running a file named something other than "windows.com"
How much you wanna bet this is going to become a haven for bit-torrent seeds? Put 'em up, get 'em to people, get it started, then take 'em down.

Umm...Wasn't one of Apple's guidelines that you can't sell a single for more than $.99, or an album for more than the price of the singles?
I don't care if OSX IS Unix-based. He just lost MAJOR cool points with me.
(Like he REALLY listens to what I have to say anyway...)
This should have definitely come from the "sick-and-wrong" dept. Or maybe a new mod: "-1, Sick" Nasty Nasty Nasty.
Though I wonder if you could put linux on an Aibo, then use the badger skin...
No, I'm talking there is no database program that could manage that many files.

Impressive, no?
For some reason, "Imagine a beowulf clusters using this" is on-topic.
This is so weird.
I must drink now.
"I do NOT suffer from a mental condition. I'm enjoying every second of it."
Can't blame them for trying...I just hope they have the good sense to back off if they find someone using p2p for legal uses...

They called it "MacBeth", and they got slashdotted. Guess it really is unlucky. :)
Now THAT deserves a Google-bomb. What could we link it to?
