I'm thinking that 'Ole Darl may have made the final plunge into the Tin Foil Hat club.

...Why can't AMD make a Dual AMD64? I have a 3400+, and would gladly pay to get a second one and a motherboard to support them.
And I would *LOVE* it if Intel would support AMD in their motherboards, like they did in the old days. 'course, with AMD's reliance on Hypertransport, that might not be such a good idea...
Pardon my forgetful memory, but isn't Corel linked to SCO somehow?
On the plus side, if they do release word perfect, and they are linked to SCO, MS might view them as a threat and pounce on them like a pizza at a Weight Watcher's convention...
Does anyone actually think this is actually gonna happen? Sun has always impressed me as a Microsoft wannabe. The only reason they are currently allying themselves with Linux is because "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
'course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
Yes, but how long until MS designs in something that will invalidate it?
Case in point: Defrag. Yes, NTFS was a major improvement, and I wouldn't go back for all the tea in China. But they didn't tell Symantec about it until the last possible minute.
Reason? It threw Symantec's financial plans in chaos.
Symantec bled majorly over that one.
I'm thinking the next file system will probably have built-in transparent, journaling compression. See Niko thankful to MS when it happens.
The earliest/weirdest toy I ever got was a drawer full of these weird plastic canadian locking blocks.
My parents, coming out of their hippy-ness, got them for me to "expand my mind and creativity". Being 7, what did I make with them? guns/firearms/rocket launchers/etc.
Get a job. ANY JOB. Showing you have a job indicates that you are a "go getter", willing to do what it takes. Trust me.
Step #2:
Hit the Pavement. When a job in your field opens up, even if it is a step down from your current pay grade, take it.
Step #3:
If your field is networking, start doing networks for churches/schools/etc. for free. Include it on your resume. If coding, get into an open source project. If business or law, go to hell.;)
Those will drastically help you reinforce the idea that you are not lazy, just unfortunate.
Ok, I don't even watch Angel, most on account a' I don't have a TV, but what is up with the networks cancelling TV shows? Are they only looking for "The NExt Big Thing"tm? I wonder if they figure that a possible smash hit will earn them more money in the short term, rather than a steady show that will earn them money at a regular rate...
Honest question: Is there any design that you can think of that doesn't result in a bulky cell phone/palm, or an impossibly small screen, with no stylus? I'd love to use this. But I don't want to feel like I have a mini-computer as a phone.
When I saw RDF, the first thing I thought of was, "The world wide web is going to use the Robotech Defense Force? Wow...that's a way of enforcing standards."
If you work for the Department of Defense on a military installation, you are not allowed to bring a camera phone onto the facility. A friend of mine did, and they fired him on the spot.
"NO CARRIER"??? I haven't seen one of those since my 2400 dial-up days to Beach Bum City BBS.
Interesting side note: For REALLY secure passwords, you could lift the receiver on your phone in the middle of a transmission, copy 8 characters from the ensuing garbage. Can you say R-A-N-D-O-M?
...at the risk of sounding like a "Me too" AOLer, the EFF is an organization that is often overlooked. If any of you are big-time managers of fortune 500 companies, and need a tax-break, I would highly suggest kicking a few million down to them. You would be truly 1337. Think IBM. Think Intel (on the weeks they are on our side), Think Novell. You could be seen as the same, and have linux coders clammoring to make your code/hardware/whatever better.

Oh yeah, this company'll last.
For that price, I'll take 2!!!
Is this Gate's law once again counter-manding Moore's Law?
Joe
I hope they are thinking "put-up-or-shut-up" now, and clamp down on SCO's grandstanding...
On the plus side, maybe the stock will slide to the point that we can get a dozen shares for a quarter. I'd buy 'em out for that price...

...what if air leaked out into space? That would suck!!
*ducks*
will they put out the f*cking $100 one? The one we were all hoping for? Right after Duke Nukem Forever comes out, right?

I wonder how it compares to Tin Foil Hat Linux?
Anyone can provide contrast/comparisons?

*sigh* good times.
I'm thinking...umm...Adam's room-mate? Or Jeremy? David?
Let me know...

I wanted to see someone write "1 4m 1337" using an electron accelerator.
Wasn't one of the hallmarks of a doomed .com company the fact that they tried to get people to pay for something they usually got for free?
Just spitballin' here..
Joe
A Business plan based on the actual Open Source community instead of just their products. Wow. I may weep openly.
Joe
What I have never understood is why some troll doesn't go to it and ruin everything? What prevents that?
I mean, I don't want to look up the War of 1812 and fine, "d00d, j00 b33n 0wnz3r3d". That would kinda suck.
Can anyone answer this?

Just my $.02
That could be a scene in futurama. Especially if IPv6 was used:
"Your honor, we would like to file charges against 04ef:4326:33d6:13a9......"
