Do you see p2p becoming anything other than an academic plaything? It's inherent "sometimes" nature (Sometimes you'll find the file you are looking for, sometimes it's busy/not found due to you not having the right connections) would seem to run counter to most business' requirements for reliability. How do you plan on redressing this?
Please select your argument here: [ ] MS has these security exploits because it is the biggest OS [ ] MS is a steaming pile when it comes to security [ ] MS is working on fixing these things, and is doing the responsible thing. [ ] 1337! I can't wait to #4x0r!
Deus Ex itself was butchered. They took out the RPG aspect of it, limited you on what you could carry, and took out the side quests...I was extremely dissapointed in it.
I guess when it is assumed that your OS is full of security holes, you can issue a press release that more or less just says, "Our security is sh*tty right now", expect everyone to just do a collective, "Yup", and shuffle off.
A dear John letter to an OS. Reminds me of when I had my last Pascal class on a VMS/VAX system:
Dear VMS:
You have tortured my life for the last time. I hate you with a pure and perfect hatred. Your renaming of my files is maddening. Your syntax is arcane and pointless. I would prefer attempting to cluster 500 Windows ME systems.
You going to buy me one? I bought the 9800XT because of its video input capabilities. I'm not dropping another $250+ for a card. I have other priorities. Like getting a new monitor. My Samsung 753DF does a dog whistle when I first start it up in the morning while it is in text-only mode.
I got an idea: How about some 64-bit drivers. I'm sick and tired of my AMD64 3400+ having a GL refresh rate of a dead dog, or having to run it in 32-bit mode
(Which I refuse to do. I got 64-bits, I'm using them damnit. If I wanted to run a 32-bit OS, I'd run windows)
yes, but they are *trying* to build goodwill towards us. As my business teacher always said: "Good Ethics is Good Business". (For an example of the reverse, see the former GAIN Network, Microsoft, *AA, etc.)
We should put up something from the Open Source Community to thank IBM for standing up for us...they could have dropped us and ramped up AIX again. Or turned around and tried to get linux for itself... Instead, they are defending us. The problem is: What do you get a company that can afford everything?
Ok, having just downloaded the trailer, and looking at the website, I think that the website is trying to portray some sort of "advanced signal" that the Covanent is supposed to have sent to bring down our defenses. Kind of like Jeff Goldblum's character in ID4 noticing the countdown. There is *NO* chance that the ad agency would let the ilovebees.com website "slip" into their finished ad. You have no idea how much scrutiny every single frame of advertising space goes under.
Artillery is much lower cost, but typically limited to LOS (13-21 miles). 250 miles is a substantial increase in that. And cheaper per pound of explosive on target. None of that fussy electronics on the missile to get in the way.

Now I can have my life-long dream of running a Laserwriter using appletalk!

This will be the "look at me" popular thing for awhile, like ballooning was.
Something will replace rocket-powered flight, and that will lead the way into space flight.
16-year olds are going to get a "spacing permit", along with Dad's old clunker, only capable of going to the moon and back.
Hey...just a thought.
...people, we are actually making progress towards making Star Trek: Voyager a reality. I say we petition the Air Force to stop work immediately.

It's not me, it's definitely you.
A month after Duke Nukem: Forever goes Gold...
Now I have to re-buy it. Curse them for improving it!
Who here wants to make a betting pool for how long until linux is hacked onto it?

...Ah yes, the internet. Putting porn and pipebomb instructions in the hands of 13-year olds since September 3rd, 1969...
and that word is......pretentious.

Why would you want to form the head? That's just disgu....OOOOH! THAT head....never mind. :)
Sort of like Bug-Stock. A day-long festival of software, testing, and resolution.
Sort of like Woodstock, except without all the kick-ass music, sex, drugs and alcohol. Hmm...never mind.
Continual thought process in Doom3: "Where is the bad-guy going to pop up next? bullets be damned, I'm running out of clean shorts!"
Not-so-mean-BOFH vs. PHB. Let's get ready to rumble!!!

'Nuff Said,

I'm calling it as a promotional stunt. Anyone else with me?
mount /dev/moo? I think I saw a webpage about that once..
And I just got straight A's this last quarter. Oh well, I really don't need a Master's anyway...
