I'm a cybersecurity consultant, so I know what I'm talking about.
I don't think using the term "cybersecurity" helped
you case, but then again people telling you they know what thier talking about because of "X" is ususally a good sign they don't.
Though I think we both could agree that no general purpose desktop operating system available today has adequate security.
...the average wage in the US will be no higher than the average wage in urban China. But it won't matter, because everything will be so cheap.
Sorry, it doesn't seem to be working that way with
out-sourcing. I've seen lots of companies outsource
thier IT workers, but haven't seen any of them lower thier prices. The savings seems to be put in the pockets of the fat cats, who are getting fatter.
The Energy Research and Development Administration was created in 1974, and spent tax payer dollars (AKA funding) on solar, wind, geothermal and nuclear energy research.
Does anyone know why the US does not have a system for aiding people in legal battles, and why when a motion in court is found to not be enforcable in law, does the person who brought the suit (and therefore a large monetary cost) to someone erroneously, does not have to pay?

Plum Crazy nightclub on Route 11 in Rochester NY burned to ground in an overnight fire. The structure was a total loss. A statement form Rochester Fire Chief, Floyd Madison, "We have ruled this fire suspicious in nature. Perhaps the most bizarre thing is the number of charred cans of spam we found".
OK, I read the article and it sucked. I sent Forbes a nice comment as well, but I just couldn't shake this feeling, fears probably a better word.
We (the FSF donors/supporters) must be careful to insure that the FSF does not evolve into an organization the make a living by harassing, threatening and suing people. We don't need another MPAA or RIAA.
My solution would be for there to be 3 possible outcomes for anyone accused by the FSF of violating the GPL by not releasing the source.
Prove in court your not violating the GPL (they win).
Admit wrong doing and release the source and pay the FSF court cost if any (we win).
Admit wrong doing and and recall all infringing products and pay the FSF court cost if any (we win again).
This keeps FSF from profiting from it's actions.
We must not have settlements that allow the FSF to profit and the violaters to be allowed to continue to so do.
Well, I think the already did, or almost anyway. Seem to me they get a few pennies every time I by a CDR to burn a backup of my digital photos.

NO it's NOT!
It a corporation's. Corporations are not people.
Repeat after me "Corporations are not people".
The American (in)justice system at work.

The ERDA also did work on synfuels, oil and gas produced from coal, oil shale and solid wastes.

Where is the data to back this up?
If I remember right, before the formation of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation he really gave very little when compared with other filthy rich guys.
When you can show me he gives an equal or greater percentage of his wealth as the next 10 richest guys, I'll be impressed.
That just about describes the typical American tourist.
Any documentation to support these statements?
Most free? US is ranked 31st
Most law-abiding? US is ranked

The fact checker responsible for that story has been sacked.

I though all the IT jobs were moving to India.
Isn't it just as valid to say AT&T UNIX is a derived work of MULTICS?
Who owns the copyright to MULTICS, Honeywell.
So if Honeywell would just start send letters to all of SCO's customers (both of them) demanding they buy a license...
Don't be silly. Bill doesn't buy things himself. That's what servants are for.
I always wonder what happen to those NASA engineers from the Mars Climate Orbiter mission. I guess they work for CNN now :-)
