I am not an archaeologist but I would imagine that the holy grail of Archaeology is THE HOLY GRAIL
Archaeology is the search for fact. Not truth. So forget any ideas you've got about lost cities, exotic travel, and digging up the world. We do not follow maps to buried treasure and "X" never, ever, marks the spot.
That's part of it. Your eyes have limited resolution though-- and if your new HD display only fills 15 degrees of arc, you won't see much more detail than what a good standard definition display can offer.
why are you equating opus dei with freemasonry? They hold rather different beliefs, and it stands to reason that the Roman catholics would treat them differently.
Maximum Security is expensive-- if the inmate is convicted of a nonviolent offense, is not a escape risk, and the sentence is relatively short, minimum security is reasonable. But, by escaping, Davidson has all but guaranteed that if he is ever recaptured, he will serve out as his sentence in a more secure facility.
I'm not sure why prison rape is looked on as a correctional tool by so many posters here (even if it is just a film reference) Most prisoners eventually return to society, and it's better for all of us if they can be rehabilitated.
It's a program to combat drug and gang related violence, specifically around Denver. Since the FBI (it is a federal prison camp, after all) would probably need local assistance to find him, the task force probably was the easiest way of organizing that assistance. But I'm just guessing. Maybe the Spam King joined a gang in prison, and his "brothers on the outside" are helping him.
Some captcha implementations have associated audio.
The employer is probably risking an ADA lawsuit if their application process is not, in some way, accessible to the blind.
Nevertheless, automated comment spam can reduce the signal to noise ratio quite quickly, if preventative measures are not put in place. SInce captchas have been solved, I predict the imminent death of the web... or at least "Web 2.0".
Let's not argue about morals and ethics, two words which mean whatever you want them to mean.
Then we cannot argue about freedom, which is inherently an ethical concept.
Suppose a company offered its software on the following terms:
right to use the software is not sold, but leased. data transformed through use of the software is owned by the Company, and leased back to the leasee. etc
Would you agree that the license is "free" because it maximized the liberty of the vendor? Or would you consider the license to be a mockery of freedom? In the absence of an agreed ethical framework, your arguments would be essentially meaningless.
A hardback SF novel is sometimes worth more to me than the Paperback edition because of the physical qualities. It's nicer to read black text on white paper than it is to read black text on grey paper. It's nice to have a binding that doesn't break, or bend. The tactile qualities of the book is still worth paying for, sometimes. A physical copy of the book is easier on the eyes, and doesn't take up screen space.
However, in my experience, most college textbooks are not printed with quality bindings. Signatures may be printed upside down, in the wrong order, or omitted entirely. The corners of the covers wear away, exposing the cheap cardboard within. Do the publishers do this to reduce resale value?
One application, which it is likely that most Chinese people don't use, is causing nearly all users of the internet in China to be blocked from a wonderful source of software that many more Chinese and foreigners alike will use.
No, the Chinese Government is being silly. They are the ones who instigated the block, not sourceforge. They are the ones who are depriving chinese Internet users of a wonderful resource. Take it up with them. Protest. Sign petitions. Take up arms. Whatever. Don't blame us for the censorious policies of a foreign government.
It's this kind of ruthless compartmentalizing that leads to "free speech zones." Politics is a part of everyday life. It should not be relegated to a ghetto.
If the government was following the International Diabetes Federtion guidelines, and you fell into the Europid subgroup, a 37 inch waistline would be permissible. Barely (94cm for males, 80 cm for females.) The guidelines are supposed to be speific for each ethnic group.
The US customary (read: obsolete) definition allows for waistlines of 102 cm and 88 cm for male and females respectively.
The article is a little unclear, but I think failing the waistline tests means that you have to be tested for diabetes risk factors. And if you fail those tests, then you have to diet and exercise.
The DB8 is not a bad UHF antenna. It's designed for people who live up to 70 miles from the stations
original poster says he has a DB8, which is already extremely large. Perhaps multipath is the problem?
shouldn't that be "War of the Rebellion?" After all, slashdot was founded in Michigan.

At that distance, and with that screen, 720p should suffice. The difference between 1080p and 720p will be negligible.

According to the viewing distance calculator you really should sit closer to such a "small" screen.
That's ok, my living room setup fares worse.
and the reon chip is supposed to be top-notch. Perhaps the real problem is miscalibrated displays.

Complain to the makers of Windows, then.

Florence doesn't even appear on Forbes list of the best places to go to prison.

I'd quibble with your diagnoses and/or invocation of Godwin.
Frankly, I have a hard time understanding why computer programmers disparage the grammars of natural languages.

How many coding windows do you regularly fit on on the screen?

The end of CAPTCHAs is a win for web usability.
Hmm-- a tradeoff between pissing off vast majority of users who are annoyed by spam, and pissing off the tiny minority of users with impaired vision.
You're thinking of UPI.--United Press International.
The Associated Press, or AP is a cooperative owned by the media organizations that contribute to it.

Is baseball that popular in France?
Maybe. But Mcafee directs readers to this link which is redirected to the site I mentioned
