    Whats exhausting, the hating, or the hating the hating? If you hate hating why would you hate something like hating, which would mean you hate yourself for hating what you do (hating what you do).

    Neither does windows ;)

    I'm about to graduate, and there are hardly any computer jobs out there for people with less then 2 years commercial experience. The only way to get experience is get a job, and the only way to do taht is have experience. It's a chicken and egg situation, however as people leave the industry, and noone joins, you'll get a problem.

    Given the average slashdotter is either a

    1) Student that doesnt bathe, eats at his computer, and doesnt work until 2 weeks before finals
    2) Sysadmin that doesnt bathe, eats at his computer, and babysits a server with no need to do anything

    that's not really relavent

    Assuming you are an eccentric billionaire, buy a copy for the folks at the South Pole, where the suns just set for the next 6 months. Of course it's pretty impossible to get there for the next 6 months too, although for enough (millions) I'm sure you could.

    Apparently Iridium isnt as reliable as immersat etc (which makes sense, as you are tracking lots of fast moving satelites instead of one stationary satelite).

    If he leaves his PC on all night. I have no problem leaving my PC on, however the ball and chain moans about

    1) Light from the DVD player
    2) Light from the DVD player *on standby*
    3) Light from the VCR
    4) Light from the little "tape in" on the VCR on standby
    5) Light from the TV on standby (little red LED)
    6) Light from the Power, HDD, keyboard LED, speaker LED, etc on my PC
    7) *tiny* red light from my amp on standby

    It's very infuriating! Oddly she doesnt mind the fans though (although when updatedb starts at 6:30AM it soemtimes wakes *me* up

    Each human life has the same worth

    Not to me, the lives of my loved ones, my self, my friends and people I feel an affinity and attachment to (people in my town, county, country) are way, way, way above someone on the other side of the world. Any parent that, given the choice, let their own child die instead of letting a couple of people they dont know die is unfit to be a parent.

    Thats just my (contraversial) opinion though.

    How? It wasnt lack of food, or medecine. The UN (not US) sanctions do not prohibit Iraq from selling its goods (oil) for unlimited ammounts of food, medicene, basic educational supplies, etc. There is only one person that stops the food getting where its needed - Saddam.

    Not too long I'd imagine. I've got a wierd disability that required me to breath oxygen. If I put my head in an airtight bag, I tend to die very quickly.

    My girlfriends got to take out a £20,000 ($30k) loan to do a 1 year post-grad Law course. Compare that to the total cost of an undergrad course (maximum £3k ($5k) for a 3 year course, and its a rip off. You have to spend hundereds just to join the "club". Law is the cliquest place ever.
