    Oh I hope so, I really do. I'm afraid that it's equally likely that the world will go the other way. the future will be less tollerant and free then afganistan under the taliban.

    You arent getting anything into your possession. You are rearranging things (electrons) that are in your possesion, but nothing changes ownership.

    No its copyright infringment, it's legally and (potentially - depending on the exact form. Copying a cd after you lose yours isnt wrong) morally wrong. It's not theft. Get a dictionary.

    No, I dont steal music. I may copy music while unauthorised to do so, however stealing music involves walking into virgin megastores and picking up a cd, then walking out.

    At no point during copying a cd/taping the radio/downloading an mp3 are you removing anything from anyone.

    No. It's copyright infringment. It's illegal. It may even be wrong.

    It is NOT theft. Theft is:

    ( Websters)1. (Law) The act of stealing; specifically, the felonious taking and removing of personal property, with an intent to deprive the rightful owner of the same; larceny."

    Note: To constitute theft there must be a taking without the owner's consent, and it must be unlawful or felonious; every part of the property stolen must be removed, however slightly, from its former position; and it must be, at least momentarily, in the complete possession of the thief.


    Copying is not theft, its plain english.

    It was written in english back in the 16th or 17th century. In fact, the bible being available in english in a progressive country like england led to standardisation of the language, and skyrocketed england ahead of the rest of europe by decades in culture and science.

    KCL, UK ban linux, stating You may not run any Unix operating system since they can represent a serious risk to network integrity. Any student found running a Unix system (e.g. Linux) connected to the College network will have that system disconnected.

    I tried emailing them a corrected version, but their email address was down - so much for network integrity.

    "You are encouraged to run a Unix based operating system since they dont
    suffer serious risks to network integrity like Nimda, Code Red and Outlook
    Worms. Any student found running any insecure system (e.g. most windows
    boxes) connected to the College network will have that system disconnected."


    Confusingly they do allow the unix based Mac OSX.

    Lets assume that you've grown tired of yet another 3D shoot-em-up. Why do you need such ridiculous ammounts of graphics memory? At 128MB of ram you can have a normal workspace screen with 44,739,242 pixels, or a resolution of arround 7680*5760 at 24bit color. Thats like a 130 inch screen at average dpi.

    I'm much more interested in why I cant pick up cheap ($20) 2 head or 4 head video cards, or ones with decent video out at the same time as VGA out.
