What you just saw was a Freenet "URL", which obviously has nothing much to do with web URLs as we know them. If you run freenet locally, which most people do, you can most likely press this link, but that depends on your running the Freenet demon on the standard port.
NOBODY expects it to be written in C#!! Its chief weapon is surprise... surprise and fear... fear and surprise... Its two weapons are fear and surprise... and ruthless efficiency... Its three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency... and an almost fanatical devotion to Redmond... Its four... no... Amongst its weapons... Amongst its weaponry... are such elements as fear, surprise... I'll try posting some other time.
What's weird is that I actually use to believe those words
Not to be a grammar nazi, but you meant "used to", not "use to". Bad grammar and spelling is no problem except when it makes you convey a message different from your intent.:)
A premise for freedom, software freedom inlucuded, is that it is for everybody. You can't have "freedom, except for those I don't like". That kind of discrimination is actually incompatible with the GPL.

Depending on your take on "non-trivial", there are several projects built with mono and C#: Muine, the music player and F-Spot the personal photo manager, off the top of my mind.
The point is just that Mono is not a toy. Of course, it's not silver bullet either, but compared to C, it sure allows the developer to focus on the important logic of his applications instead of juggling with memory pointers.
You do not have to "download urpmi" on Mandrake. It comes with the distro and is ready to use. 'urpmi gimp' will automatically install The Gimp, for instance, along with any dependencies. I know what you're thinking -- too hard! Well, there's rpmdrake too, which is integrated nicely into the Mandrake Control Center. This is a graphical frontend to urpm, where you can select applications for installation or removal, or update your system with the latest security updates. Except that perhaps the GUI can be made more intuitive, this process cannot be made easier. People may be used to downloading some strange.exe off the net and clicking that to install, they just have to change that habit. Boo-hoo.
Critical reporting often mandates anonymity, especially in oppressive countries like Iran, China and Italy. I like to think that anonymous writers could post news and opinions online and build up a reputation and be heard, like Locke and Demosthenes in "Ender's Game".
However, Freenet is not necessarily about anonymity. People could still post on Freenet using their full names and sign cryptographically. An equally important part of Freenet is censorship resistance. Once something has been posted, it cannot be taken offline as long as there is demand for the content. That's information availability, a cornerstone of democracy.
And with Java dying, Solaris failing and Linux gaining more and more ground, SUN may become yet another F*cked Company that Microsoft can use to spread legal uncertainty around Linux and Free software. With the patent exchange this new deal includes, they will unlike SCO claim patent infringement rather than use copyright claims. And SUN will, funded heavily by Microsoft, be a giant compared to SCO.
Ok, I admit I cannot predict the future accurately, and I may need more tin foil. But we should stay vigilant and keep our corporate friends at IBM and Novell close even after SCO is gone.
You're too kind. This "review" provides no information at all. I'd like to hear about hardware integration, how well the distro specific tools worked and how well they fit with the desktop environment. This is just a brief story about one guy trying to make SUSE as much into Fedora as he could. All he says is "it came with KDE, so I installed GNOME, and it didn't go smoothly, but this was a beta anyway, bye."
What he's really trying to say is: please, for your own sake, stop using the 14-year-old counter-strike player language. It's ok to say "newbie" or "someone new to Linux" or whatever.
Just because there's some code somewhere in a PDF file that you explicitly cannot use doesn't mean it's Open Source. Open Source licenses must adhere to the Open Source Definition which among other important things says that derivatives must be allowed. Which is a huge part of the point of Open Source to begin with.
The GNOME guys don't have their own "Quality" project like KDE has now, but they arrange "Love days". And actually, it's today! So if you want to become a GNOME hacker, head on over to #gnome-love on irc.gnome.org.
There's nothing wrong with the picture. Distributing the file is not illegal, so I did. And it's not like I need anonymity for it.

And SCO said ... Nothing, you idiots, SCO's dead!
And also full of ProHosting's advertising JavaScript code, so you'll have to edit it by hand before it will compile.
Bruk is Norwegian for "use", yes, but I think by "bruk" in this case he meant to abbreviate "BinaryReader UserKey".
:)
Jeg er også norsk, og vet at Jon ikke er så dum

You know, instead of saying "we" should do it, you could have just done it. It's very easy. So I did it for you.

# is the "hash" symbol. C#, while written out as "C Hash", is pronounced "Cash", reflecting the reason Microsoft invented it.

How can you even question Echelon in the face of such tidings? Tin-foil hat crowd?
Echelon is real, and has been confirmed by participating parties. You can read about it here.

When you go to the grocery, do you ask for 'meat', or do you specify species and cut?
What the hell is this "meat"? Just give me a store full of gray boxes labelled "Food", damnit!

Yeah, can you imagine working with something you enjoy that much? It's preposterous.

Hahaha, you put a K in place of a Q, it's funny cos that's what KDE does, haha, that's so novel! Wooo, I can't breathe, hee-heee!
