XP was not designed for 64bit, xp64 is a comprimise at best

Windows XP x64 isn't XP at all. It's server 2003 with the XP GUI. XP x64's greatest compromise comes from WOW64 and Itanium. A compromise that Vista shares as well. In order to manage compatibility with legacy applications being recompiled on 64-bit Windows Itanium systems with hard coded filenames WOW64 does some nasty remapping hacks of c:\windows\system32 wherein 32 bit apps see c:\windows\syswow64 as c:\windows\system32 and 64 bit apps see the actual contents of c:\windows\system32. Resulting in a case where 32 bit applications see a different set of data from 64 bit apps, and this will continue to exist as long as microsoft values backwards compatibility to an extreme (IE I fully expect the same behavior out of windows 7.)

My big problem with vista is it likes to cache stuff. Accidentally try to access a network drive before the wireless is up? Vista's happy to cache the negative response and not let you access that drive even after the network is up. Though it seems to have improved some with recent patches. It use to not want to work unless I rebooted, now going into my computer and double clicking the drive seems to open it up fine.

Nintendo could have put some clear warnings along with the wiimotes, something like "be careful not to let these fly out of your hands and break the tv, window, mirrors, or your commemorative plate collection."

You obviously don't own a Wii. Every game I've played has a goofy little screen that comes up when you start the game with a picture of a guy whacking his tv and the person behind him with the wiimote and a warning saying not to let the thing come out of your hand.

not that this is on topic at all but I have karma to burn. McCain may be old but he won't be having a heart attack as soon as he gets into office. If he was going to have one, hes under enough pressure just campaigning. Same goes for Obama. It's not like they're going to decrease the security he gets when he gets into office. He will be just as protected as he is now if not more so. No matter who gets elected, it is very unlikely that their VP will take over. It is good to evaluate the VP with the pres because they will reflect the values of their running mate as well. But don't assume that they will be in charge if their running mate gets elected. Your negative pessimistic attitude just reinforces itself in others and further erodes confidence in the United States of America. Secret Service won't let Obama get assassinated and McCain is not in such terrible health that he is going to have a heart attack the day he gets into office. We will probably have seen more time with Cheney in charge of the country in the end than either Palin or Biden will spend in charge.

Reasonable ruling from the court. Advocating marijuana legalization is not advocating marijuana use. People advocating using marijuana should be jailed however. If you want to use marijuana try to get it legalized, don't encourage people to perform an illegal act and potentially ruin their own lives just so you can cut out the step of going through the proper channels.
