So instead of installing XP, and then Vista, you install Vista twice?
This is only a benefit for people who don't have a legitimate claim to using a Vista upgrade license seeing as an XP->Vista install would take significantly less time.
It's a basic law of physics. Eating more calories than you burn with regularity makes you fat, and no amount of excuses will change that. As we become more sedentary due to technology's conveniences, our caloric needs decrease, and it is up to us to either take up recreational physical activity to continue our diets or restrict calories accordingly.
I am sick of the excuses made, and it's time to do something about the obesity epidemic before it bankrupts our healthcare system.
and thus not all are necessarily what we might consider "moving." The non-motile ones might move a little bit from pushing each other away as they reproduce, but it's silly to assume all bacteria move under their own power.
I'm confused as to why you even bothered with this semi-coherent and absolutely irrelevant excuse for a retort. He already quite succinctly exposed you for the idiot troll you are.
At least God provided the option of turning said feature back on with the estrogen patch.
I think he's still working out some bugs though. Seems the patch has a tendency to mess up the voice recognition software in humans and make them start to incorrectly hear things, then react violently based upon the misinterpretations.
I'm sure Steve's influence on the company's success is overrated. They did just fine without him, launching many successfulproducts under the wise leadership of their brilliantinterimCEOs.
And what does that have to do with the price of tea in China, friend?
He asked about eating too much sodium. I answered. I don't even know why you would bother bringing this up with me, as it's totally unrelated to the subject of our discussion.
Look, I didn't throw that little tidbit about deaths in there so you could latch on to it and mount a full on straw man attack.
Sodium has been consistently clinically demonstrated to not have an extremely significant effect on blood pressure in the majority of the population, and even in those it does, cutting it produces only a temporary and mild drop.
Sodium is neither good nor bad news. It's one more substance vital to our lives that the panicky idiots in the media have demonized such that everyone out there who thinks he/she knows anything about nurtition will endlessly rip on it.
Sodium is not nearly as bad as many people have been lead to believe. Doctors will frequently tell their hypertension patients to cut as much sodium from their diets as possible, but this is because a portion of the population is hypersensitive to sodium, and there is no way to tell whether or not cutting sodium can help their blood pressure until a low sodium diet is tried. If the patient responds well to the low sodium intake, then other more drastic measures like medication can be avoided.
Keep in mind that until the advent of modern preservatives (the most commonly used one is still sodium) and refrigeration/freezing, the primary method of preserving a variety of foods involved salt curing, and many people of long ago had daily intakes of sodium that would be considered astronomical by today's standards, yet managed to find many interesting ways to die that didn't involve stroke or heart attack.
GNAA Congratulates the Debian Project on the Release of Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 "Sarge" GNAA Congratulates the Debian Project on the Release of Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 "Sarge"
BATON ROUGE, LA - June 6, 2005 - The Gay Nigger Association of America extended today its congratulations to the Debian Project regarding its 8th consecutive release of the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. The latest incarnation of Debian, codenamed "Sarge", had been eagerly anticipated for approximately 6,000 years by both unwashed GNU/Hippies and fizzlebearded Open Source aficionados alike. So far the reception of "Sarge" has ranged from indifferent to uninterested, but the release has managed to draw the attention of many fundamentalist Christians, who have long seen the release of a new version of Debian as one of the major signs of the apocalypse.
"Sarge" is notable for greatly expanding upon the Debian policy of creating distributions that are obsolete before they are even released - a practice which, while not particularly desirable, has been enthusiastically received by nostalgic collectors of outdated open source software, as well as the National Association for Marketing Buggy Linux Applications, or NAMBLA. Debian project leader Branden Robinson defended the policy, however, in an impromptu GNAA interview which was conducted at his home. When asked to comment on Debian's slow adoption of new software, he was quoted as saying, "Look, the fact is that the open source development model is so ineffective that just as many new bugs are probably created in each release as old ones are fixed, so it all evens out. Right? Um - please stop touching my leg. No I'm not homophobic, I just - hey, I said cut it out! No, stop! I'm saving myself for Bruce Perens! HELP!" About Debian
The Debian project was started in 1993 by Ian Murdock, who was unsatisfied with the level of political bickering and useless hand-wringing found in other projects at the time. The Debian Project has grown steadily over the years and currently consists of over 1,000 developers and maintainers, yet contains more bugs and is more out of date than the older Slackware distribution, which is produced by a single maintainer with a chronic bacterial infection. Debian's use has been on the decline due to users being fed up with its sluggish release process and political drama, but it has nevertheless received the accolade of those Linux users who have not yet discovered the existence of superior and more modern distributions such as Ubuntu, Fedora Core, and Windows Server 2003.

"Then charge them income taxes, make it higher than normal to provide for the rest of us. It's not a problem of "Build a better fence!""
That sounds like a great idea, and many people would love to. Guess what? By their very nature, illegal immigrants are nearly impossible to track (Given the rough number of 11 million in the US at current estimates) and all problems related to them stem from this fact.
Well, unlike a lot of people around here, I've got a smaller interest in being viewed as "winning" and more of an interest in actual education on a subject, so if you know of any specific sources listing the benefits of illegal immigrants, I'm all ears. (No, telling me to google something isn't acceptable:o)
Someone needs to bone up on his logical fallacies.
"I heard from some advocacy group that..." is an appeal to authority. Citing a so-far credible study is providing evidence for a viewpoint, and while you can attack the source all you want, their methods seem sound and they retain their credibility until you can do more than fallaciously accuse others of logical fallacies.

I think slashdot's moderators are going senile.
ATX might not, but mini and nano ITX standards have been out for a long time, and seem to do exactly what AMD states as a goal.
It's new and it's not made by Intel! What's not to love?
Maybe AMD should take a lesson from Kerry's failed presidential campaign.

Aids is easily prevented, while many innocent people continue to die of cancer. To call AIDS the greater threat is asinine.

Sodium has been consistently clinically demonstrated to not have an extremely significant effect on blood pressure in the majority of the population, and even in those it does, cutting it produces only a temporary and mild drop.
Sodium is not the bogeyman. It will greatly benefit anyone with high blood pressure to lose some weight and examine the entirety of their diet for other excesses and deficiencies before automatically blaming sodium for high blood pressure.
Sodium is neither good nor bad news. It's one more substance vital to our lives that the panicky idiots in the media have demonized such that everyone out there who thinks he/she knows anything about nurtition will endlessly rip on it.
