we don't get that at all. My health insurance costs me $1000 a month for my family. which is me and my son. my wife's health insurance is free with her job.
the real tragedy is that mueller will most likely never see the inside of a cell. he will probably get a medal and a fat pension and never answer for his criminal acts.
You really are correct about the 4th amendment. NSL's are a complete violation of the 4th amendment. They are exactly the sort of thing that the founding fathers did not want to happen to citizens. The whole administration lied about using these powers for terrorism investigations. They never had any intention to do so. Congress who voted for the patriot act should really think long and hard about their poor decision. They essentially gave away the rights of the American people.
If Thomas Jefferson or Samuel Adams or Ben Franklin were alive today, they would be planning to topple the US government. They wrote this in to our core doctrines as an unalienable right of the people to protect themselves against tyranny in government. This is sort of a stupid idea today since we would start losing things we take for granted like the Internet to start, then US postal service, and the right to freely travel from state to state. (though the TSA is really pushing the boundaries of this one).
Americans need to start caring about their country and their future. Vote first with your wallet, then with your ballot. (the supposed free market system will take care of those organizations we choose to 'vote' out.) unless they are bailed out by the US government, which is a very, very socialist thing to do. lest we forget fascist.
you definitely don't live in Miami, FL. The one thing I've noticed here over the past 25 years is the cost of living keeps going up and the wages don't really go up at all.
in 1990 the average house cost around $180,000 and for a good programming job you could get about $85k.
now the average house costs around $300,000 and for a good programming job you can get about $85k.
fulfill your requirements and document your protests. When your manager comes to collect, point out your protests and mention that they've been documented from the start. Do your due diligence my friend.
if you actually owned a tivo, you wouldn't be saying any of that. Tivo really provides a better dvr experience than any other. That and dish network decided they didn't want to deal with tivo in the beginning. So they just made their own bed.
and wait for it...
NHS!

their job is to archive public records. Every document produced by the US government is public record unless classified.

kudos to tivo for protecting their business.
Blu-Ray discs aren't gong to sell for shit while the players are $600.
Make a $149 Blu-Ray player with all the trimmings and maybe possibly the discs might start selling.
all it does is tell your device to set certain switches to on or off. That's not tangible.
wow! offtopic much?
apparently he made his own moulds. That does beg the question of whether or not lucasfilm actually owns the rights to the stormtrooper design.
apparently it's not illegal if you own the network.
The problem lies with subscriber traffic no longer being a reliable indicator since the isp forges packets to and from subscribers now.
This essentially means no more suing comcast customers for copyright infringement.
It used to be they just blocked google.
Now, they're blocking web traffic.
whenever I'm trying to download torrents, firefox doesn't load pages. I turn off the torrents, and suddenly it works again.
This, I'm sure has got to be a complete breach of service contract.
Though this sort of behavior isn't new. ISPs have always messed with the connections of heavy users to make them want to leave the ISP.
parody is fair use that is protected by the 1st amendment. Yahoo is hiding behind the dmca. They have a history of cencorship with china
well said Matt.
This is utterly ridiculous. XP is not dead for me. I won't use Vista until MS fixes it.
that's the real question.
music downloads launched the career of Vampire Weekend. They're a pretty cool band who might not have made such a good deal with a label otherwise.
what does US Cyber Command have to do with the NSA?
Then it would reveal the flaws in the hardware and software systems in unusual ways.
we would start seeing people with the same fingerprints. we might also start seeing people with the same DNA.
our systems are not complex or sensitive enough to really be sure.
well, this time tin foil has a real use, to cover the camera!
in 2000, volusia county, FL had one precinct count up -16,000 votes for Al Gore. That's right NEGATIVE Sixteen Thousand and change.
since the machines are technically not designed to count backwards, someone tampered with the machine to give Gore negative votes to start with.
If I had a usb thumb drive that I purchased for work and my company or government in this case confiscated it, would I be compensated for my property?
I can understand the need to destroy the dive for security purposes, but who is going to pay for them? not the employees I hope.
by now, the IT guys probably sorted through them and kept the hi-cap ones for themselves.
When is the last time that TIME published an article that was anything more than an executive summary?
Who reads TIME anyway? I don't.
I have lost roughly 65 weeks(not an exaggeration) of sleep in the past 8 years due to the Internet, and me missing it when I sleep!
Who do I sue? Where's my meds.
