    I have a friend who was being discriminated against (he filed lawsuit - they did *VERY* stupid and illegal things to him). He went to BSA and complained that the company was pirating software (the director of *SECURITY* wrote in an email that everyone was to install their copy of Microsoft Office from their MSDN CD!!)

    BSA looked at the company - Fortune 100 - and said, nope, don't see a problem here. CYA.

    You're a fucking idiot right? The US spend more on healthcare because we have more people get sick. Simple as that. Fraud is just a rounding error. So is lawsuits. Fact of the matter is, up to 80% of healthcare costs are used up by 15% of the people, and that 15% is going up. So your healthcare cost goes way up.

    nonsense. win95 was full of 16 bit crap. even win98 had them. Hell, even nt4 had them.

    win95 even had full international support with the APIs simply doing a "return".

    Palm's biggest problem was hiring the CEO of Reeboks to be their CEO. And what did Mr. Genius CEO do? Mr. Genius CEO (this is when Palm Vx came out) said - our biggest asset is our brand. So we are going to expand on branding ($$ into marketing) and stop doing R&D. Because, you know, people buy a Palmpilot or Treo because of the brand...

    Given that FB won't allow any connectivity, I'm not sure if there's any possible solution, other than handing over shitloads of money to FB.

    Perhaps you should complain to FB and tell them you want FB/G+ connectivity. I'm sure they'd take your complaints seriously.

    You are supposed to be standards compliant. Once your contracts ask for things like HTML5 compliance instead of "must work in IE version 6.031534" you'll be far far better off.

    That's because you haven't been around long enough. This was something Microsoft "encouraged" due to, one of the reasons - piracy.

    And when I say piracy, I mean a home user installing it on another amd/intel box without paying for a second license.

    Listen - Apple *DOES NOT* want DRM. The people who make movies *REQUIRE* them to sell movies with DRM.

    Which part of that do you not understand? Go blame the people who sell the movies.

    We can see that Apple does not want DRM because they were finally in a position to force the music people to stop requiring DRM. They are obviously not in that position with movie people yet.

    In this - Apple is actually being the good boy, and yet we have morons all over blaming them for all the wrongs. Dumb asses.

    Seems like 2 out of 3 of the lawyers (or teams of them) are fighting for the cause of the good guys, or fighting against the bad guys at least.
