I know most Slashdot readers are gung ho on the PS2, but I bought a Dreamcast a couple months ago and love it. There are soo many different kind of games being built for it, where I see the ps2 having the old game ideas thrown back together in monotonus renditions...

10MB/frame on screen for the PS2 and 25MB/frame on screen for Dreamcast... Ouch... I supposed writing to VRAM is a mounds quicker then writing to GS-memory.

I'm in the IST and Comp Engineering programs, and Napster is a daily topic in a lot of our lectures now. One professor explained this letter. Penn State is only monitoring over use. So people in the dormitorys MIGHT have to watch out if they're downloading gigs and gigs, but the unlucky people on the Penn State dial-ups around Pennsylvania probably aren't going to be in any risk.

I'm happy with a lot of Penn State's decisions. The "Technical" college of Penn State, Penn College (PCT) changed their nameserver to "block" Napster. But the Penn State system is completely seperated from Penn College... (on a personal note, I think Penn College is the biggest piece of shit I've seen in a long time) but on all the other Penn State campuses nothing changed. As far as bandwith problems, I could just see some universities using balancing hardware... dedicating a smaller portion to napster or something similar... but that's no longer the problem anymore :-)

This group could do all the things KALiSTO could do, and now they're doing some more things (like being able to swap 2 cd's without booting the dreamcast again etc)..

So it's most likely KALiSTO renaming themselves to either shut people up or they were taking heat from somewhere. I very much doubt SEGA would be giving them stock option for pirating their games, however weirder things have happened. But I just think it's very odd that another group appeared with the same capibiliteis as them. I mean hell, all the other groups releasing games on the DC scene aren't nearly as skilled as either of these groups. Just funny to see one appear out of nowhere... heh
