In fact, she and her guardian both thought it was legal because they had paid for the KaZaa service (No I don't know what is this paid service...) Quote: "I thought it was OK to download music because my mom paid a service fee for it." And: The family signed up for the Kazaa music-swapping service three months ago, and paid a $29.99 service charge.
I hope I understood what you said as I got confused by the "charges"-word. I don't know its meaning in this context.
Why would you want to own a gun? I can't imagine a single use for it.
Some hunt. I don't. I can buy my meat from local shop. Some shoot on a range as hobby. What kind of hobby is that? You don't even get any exercise doing that. Shooting is good only for shooting.
Firearm is desinnged to kill. Hand-gun is desinged to kill a man. Why would I want to own one?
I can imagine the battery exploding because it heats significantly in operation. There are actually valves in official batterys to exhaust the excess pressure.
However, in this case that doesn't seem to be the case. Apparently the lady dropped the battery. A shock can cause the tiny li-ion cell to short. Or conduct from wrong place, causing short when operated. Official batterys are guarded against accident's like this even if the cells are damaged.
Just take their word when they say you really should use only approved batterys.
I would normally just ignore this kind of provocating posts. But.. I am right now facing the Finnish warmachine. I either have to got to army, move a pile of dirt for 11 months OR go to a pricon for 6 months.

I made that installer work on an IBM 486sx with 8M of mem. Tried getting more mem but couldn't find anything that fit to that box. It was funny as hell tho:D
Took me 2 days, but I learned to use loop-back devices that day! =)
I think this was the very same site I used as a reference when desinging engravings to my and my ex-girlfriends rings. I think this was at the time of making of LOTR's first book into a movie. I recall I also used some stand-alone app to get the nifty fonts after I learned exactly what letters I wanted.
How can anyone have such bad morale? I had access to tens of thousands of credit card details as a developer for one database application.
I left the company in very disgruntled mood. Yet I never was even slightly tempted to copy the databases or details of the communications how the details are transferred around the country. I had some company code and documentation home because I used to work remotely at times. I erased the data and returned the dead-tree docs in mail.
Althou email addys and credit card details are in totally different categories, I think of the people who own the information. It's not like it's their fault your getting shafted.
I do not have a criminal mind. I'm prolly going to die poor:(
There is a lot of stuff getting mutilated or left out in these movies.
What I really missed was Tom Bombadil and the Dark Forest. I believe it was Tolkien himself who said 'every great book needs an Enigma'.
After reading the series for the first time, I was dissapointed we don't hear anything about Tom. It left me with a itchy feeling and I had to skim the books throught immediately to see if I missed something. I felt he is BOUND to do something important during the books because I sensed such great power in him:) (Ring not affecting him for example.)
And for us who mainly browse the web and read home e-mail while walking to work or back from there this seems like a silly statement. I use my Nokia Communicator and 3650 regularly to write emails through GSM-data connection or smart messaging relays.
Oh well.. I guess this AOL thingy has very little to do with my life anyway.
(it does cause lung cancer, but like that ever stopped people from smoking tobacco).
You don't necessarily have to smoke it you know...

What the fuck was this article about again?
I think this 'All your base are belong to us' was more of a bad case of post-dot-com-era-hangover.
Make another note. I'm a software integrator.
I juggle with Diabolo and play drums.
So all technical people have some creative and weird hobbies to counter the ones and zeros?
How about you?
Tee-ah?
*Slurps on his black morning coffee*

Can writing free software be considered to be an experiment?
I'd say 'NO', because it can potentially harm the business of patent holder.
I'll make an evil crossover of the two and call it JAAL. Just Another Abstraction Layer.
;)
That would be descriptive.
Who cares. I hate violence in all its forms.

Try living here where there are 4 months of 24h light and after that follows a period of 8 months of darkness.
:)
Welcome to Finland
...can you make such a trivial thing as bug reporting a complex legal issue.
I would just contact the local admin, tell him whats wrong, hand out the proof-of-concept and let him sort it out with the developer company.
If you like to learn a lot how the system works, make a free partition and start consuming this:
http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/
I once created a LFS. I was going to make my very own distro for one box so I know exactly what's in there.
After I had finished, I came to the conclusion that it is wayyy too much of a hassle for me to track all the patches myself.
Now using Debian on that box. I'm much happier now that I know what each file on the system does.
It was also a great excersise to learn the build and compilation tools better. I "cross" compiled that on a AMD Athlon. Target was Pentium I.
*pffft*
:D

And of course I should have seen this one coming :)
:)
I think this not a forum to go into details of the relationship and its problems.
I have seen her still wearing the ring thou. They turned out pretty nicely.

Could the next must-have computer input device be a morse key?
*Fizzl shakes the magic 8 ball, and it reveals: 'My Sources Say No.'*
Well. It _is_ Viral.
And I wouldn't go as far as giving Microsoft the credit of pointing this out.
Yes. :)
:)
I still play at it times when I get bored with some particular piece of code
RedCode is Relaxing
Yeah. M$ is so 90's ;)
His simple definition is "the use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning"
I think that would be the definition for sarcasm.
The racing thingy would be ironic.
Umm... No?
:(

Wireless email is a rather small niche
