    Games and work.

Individuals would love to be able to play any windows-only game without having to shell out an additional $1000 for a gaming rig.

Work-stuff is more likely to be covered by a vmware-like os-inside-an-os solution, but it could still be handy to boot natively into XP for some work-related activities.

Basically, you'd dual-boot OS X with Windows for the same reasons you'd dual-boot Linux and Windows. It's just that OS X windows aren't quite as hardcore in their geekiness as the Linux dual-booters.

Of course for those of us who use all three OSes regularly, the ability for one box to run all of them is a bit of a dream come true.

Yes, and you're still full of crap.

Businesses don't NEED to run Windows, any more than home computer users do. There are choices in the marketplace, but most companies and businesses have chosen to ignore them.

Now the reasons WHY they chose to ignore them are up for debate (I believe it's because most businesses favor monolithic, homogenous platforms, myself) but it certainly isn't because a Microsoft Rep came to their home/place of work/worship and forced them to. They made usable products and made them cheaper then the competition, and so people voted with their dollars.

Did they drive other companies out of business? Sure, but those same companies would have been driven out of business if users ended up buying Apple or Sun machines as well.

In summation: Did Microsoft violate anti-monopoly laws? Sure. Did they make a huge fortune doing so? Well, that and actually making products that people use and pay for. Did they force people to buy those products? No. What does all this have to do with Bill G donating huge sums of money to charity? Not a whole lot, really.

I also really like the addition of wind drift, and the weight factor of various vehicles, something I really don't remember from B3.

Yeah, there was no wind drift in B3, and I do like that as an addition.

Thats just not true. Winning a gold on an event gives you an automatic five star rating, thats the beauty of it. Just like winning a bronze automatically deducts a star.

Nope, getting a gold adds a star, getting a bronze removes one, and a silver leaves it alone. All the events have 5 stars possible, but the only way to get 5 is to get the highest rating _and_ score a gold in the event.

  12. A Dissenting View on Review: Burnout - Revenge · · Score: 5, Informative

Personally, I'm not sure how much I like some of the changes to the game. Specifically:

Crash mode - In B3, Crash mode was like a puzzle on speed. Finding those x3 and x4 tags and figuring how to hit them while still causing a pileup was the goal. Now the goal is more like Dance Dance Revolution (time that start correctly) followed by Microsoft Olympics (mash that B button like a monkey on meth to make the explosion happen) Driving? not really that important. Placement of wreck? important, but if you fail on the other two "skill" tests, it won't matter.

Car checking - There's now very little danger in driving on the proper side of the road. Anything you hit that is smaller than you and travelling in the same direction just bounces out of the way, barely slowing you down, adds an interesting play mechanic, but takes some of the skill out driving some of those courses. Also, it's applied a little strangely, as cross traffic still causes crashes... sometimes.

Finally, it's no longer good enough to just get a gold medal on each event in the game, you also have to get a gold medal while being "stylish" enough doing it.

    It's a good game, certainly, but I prefer B3. I'd only give B4 a 6 or 7 out of 10.

Caligula wasn't shot as a porn movie, originally. It was supposed to be a Fellini-esque (meaning raunchy and disturbing) look at the Roman Empire made by a big-budget studio. The studio went bankrupt and the production company fell apart and liquidated its assets. Bob Guccione bought the rights to the film and recut it with a bunch of Penthouse models and turned it into the highest budget porn movie ever made. But it wasn't originally intended to be that.

The highest budget porn movie ever made to be an actual porn is (or was, assuming Wicked hasn't started making $250k films) Zazel, which also features a number of Penthouse models.

But honestly, most porn is very standard, very rote, very much "simple guy girl getting in on with a cum shot at the end"
