    Well, this is news to me. We pay 1.5% commission to Amex. In fact, of the major cards, they are the lowest commission rate, with Visa/MC charging 2.5%. Restaurants can pay upwards of 4.5% but that's as high as it gets.

    That's intersting. For my parent's busines the reverse is true. Amex is the most costly at ~3%, followed by Visa/MC at ~1.65%, and discover is the cheapest at 1.5%

    The reason sugar cane is "less-than-plentiful in the US" is the US government. I know, a lot of you are sitting there shocked.

    The United States government to protect sugar cane growers in the US have a both a tariff and quota emplaced on the importation of sugar. This makes sugar cost about two to three times more in the United States than any other country.

    Needless to say the sugar quota and tariff do is screw the consumer over with higher prices, and displace jobs. Recently, several large candy manufactures left the United States for Canada taking about 250,000 jobs with them. As if that isn't enough this is why your soda taste like crummy using corn syrup instead of sugar.

    It amazems me how many people have children, and waste lots of time on it. I know its your right but damn. I would love the see people like you segregated into tared groups. the first being breeders, the second being control freaks, and the last being where you'll find me. This way we can stop contol freak breaders like you from having more control on content.

    Amateur astronomers spend a lot of time scanning the sky for new asteroids, comments, and space junk. The professional astronomers really don't have the time for it because they are too busy concentrating on one area of research, such as studying quark or pulsar stars.

    This results in a lot amateur astronomers finding new comments, asteroids, space junk, and apparently third moons. While professional astronomers release papers on quark stars.
