You still seem to be confused. There are very few people who are unsatisfied with the iPhone, as evidenced by the ever-increasing sales and amazing brand loyalty.
Sure, there exists a vocal group of nerds who continue to insist that because the iPhone is not perfect for their every need, no one actually likes it, but that's hatred blinding them, not a reflection of some deeper reality.
Ah, kill people so you can freely use the work of others. You, sir, have made a very compelling case as to why you are entitled to do whatever you want.
You didn't bother supporting your conclusion with any statements in your post, so I'll assume you're an idealist and I won't waste my time arguing with you, but I will note that I disagree.
Oh, you bought this phone? And you didn't research first if you would be able to do the things you want? I mean with practically no effort at all you could very easily have found out this device doesn't do what you want it to do natively. Apple is very upfront about the development environment for iOS.
Or are you just stretching a lie to make your non-point? I'm suspecting that one, given the whole "I'm entitled to everything I want" attitude that seems to prevail around here.
You live in a weird world if you think the UIs of old were "usable" in any sense of the word. I'm not surprised to come across such retardation here on Slashdot, where a vocal chunk of you think computer reached its nadir in the 70s... but it still gets me that you actually might really feel this way against all available evidence.
I'm not sure why it's necessary to enable a mom-and-pop shop to compete with the likes of Samsung and Apple. That's kinda like being upset that a Pop Warner center wouldn't be able to play in the NFL.
There is no particular right to do the business you want to do, just the business you're capable of doing.
So let me get this straight - wholesale copying of someone else's effort is innovation, and changing things so that your product is different than a competitor's product is needless?
They're only "outright lying" if you take an overly strict interpretation based on assumption, as you did.
Feel free to believe whatever you want, of course. I'm not here to tell you that you aren't allowed to be dead wrong about stuff. This is Slashdot, where there are no bounds on the stupidity you can bring to the table in the name of being smarter than everyone else.
It's a Slashdotter masturbation frenzy. Everyone will get in with a comment about how they're so smart for not believe anything on Fox news, and they'll try to top each other in contests of cleverness by substituting "Faux" for "Fox" because nothing impresses the ladies like snide misspellings.
I'm sure, if that were necessary to have prepared, the US military could have it set up. They're awfully good at logistics and weapons delivery systems.
Yeah except authors like to do things like "eat" and "wear clothes" and "have somewhere to live" and I'm guessing you can't afford to provide that for all of them, so we needed another system while the technology caught up.
The single menu bar is, to me, garbage, and I say this as a Mac user. Love on the idea of an infinite target till the end of time, but the modern mouse is a precision tool and it doesn't require significantly more effort or time to hit an in-window menu.
I have a serious problem with anyone who believes I must act for the benefit of society as a whole, not the least part of which no one is qualified to judge that benefit.
You aren't mentioning the someone making 40,000 accepting a loan he knew he couldn't pay back, which is equally unconscionable. Let's not be intellectually dishonest here.
The problem here is simple. There are the have-lots, who have lots of stuff, then there are the want-lots, who want to have lots of stuff. Trouble is, the want-lots want the have-lots to somehow be forced to supply the stuff. Apparently because they feel that, having been born, they've done everything they need to do and they are now entitled to everything they want. I think. I'm not super clear on that part yet, no one has actually articulated anything beyond "I WANT LOTS OF STUFF."
Basically, this is what happens when coddled kids come of age.

Or if you need the car analogy, it's the same reason that you can't win an F1 race with your Civic Hybrid.

This is insight? To who, 10 year olds?

What are you doing wasting time posting on Slashdot? Go feed those kids!
Wouldn't time have the be the 1st dimension? I suppose you could have spatial dimensions without time, but there would be no way to observe them.

Ahh, so you fear what you don't understand. Very human of you. Doesn't make you right, just afraid.

Nothing like watering down the meaning of the word "evil" to "I don't like having to pay for phone service."
"We'd like you to work hard to spread free entertainment" isn't a compelling cause. Who would have guessed that.
Yeah except authors like to do things like "eat" and "wear clothes" and "have somewhere to live" and I'm guessing you can't afford to provide that for all of them, so we needed another system while the technology caught up.
That's cool and all, "live" all you want - but don't go bitching that you don't have that good life you "deserve."

Many people assume that a photograph being published by a news source has been validated to be accurate and objective.
No one is responsible for your assumptions, and there's no logical way you can ever push that responsibility to any other human being.
I laughed

How are the people with no money paying for the BMWs?
It's perspectives like yours that make me feel like dismissing the whole thing as a bunch of whiners makes the most sense.
