I'm sure employees aren't going to use the phone without service, and if MS is going to pay for all of their service plans, it's going to cost them quite a bit!
This is something that Apple has never done! I still have the NetShare app on my iphone and it is still working with iOS4. Even though it breaks Apple's term of service, Apple has never done anything to break the App!
Why couldn't you advice your clients to keep IE 6 for older sites and to use a newer browser for future development? Firefox with IE tab? Just curious why this isn't a solution.
All the content providers are pushing for mobile TV, streaming music, video chat, stream movies and the cellular data providers are trying to condition consumers to the fact that data is limited and you must pay for it! What really gets me is that the data providers are also pushing content and at the same time are worried about usage. Something doesn't seem right here!
There are several browsers in the App Store that can turn off images! Perfect Browser for example turns off images, has Firefox style tabs, and full screen browsing. It even has a compressed pages option for slower networks!
It's not hate that drives my comment. I have a 3 year old Macbook Pro with 4GB of memory and 2.2ghz Dual Core processors. The machine also has a 128MB discreet video card. So at the very least, I'd expect flash videos to play smoothly and consistently without taxing my processors at 80 to 90 percent! Even a processor heavy task like encoding video doesn't tax my processors as much as watching a flash video. To be Fair, Adobe says they are working to make Flash up to 50 percent faster on the Mac when it releases version 10.2. It seems a bit too little too late as it will take significant improvements on Adobes part to win over Apple.
There isn't any reason why Flash should require a dual core processor just to barely run on the Mac. I use both Macs and PCs and the performance on the Mac side is horrible. Surely a company as large and as resource rich as adobe could have figured out how to program a flash plugin that is quick and lightweight. Is there something that I'm missing?
Interesting idea, but the screen will probably be too small for any serious work! It could be very useful for last minute changes and touch ups when away from office or with a client who requests simple changes-- this could indeed be a very handy tool!
when he lays eyes on one of these -- 18 buttons! Seriously, I don't know how I would work this mouse as it looks cramped and it would be like learning a new keyboard layout.
I agree that the ability is there, but they have never done it! Just a piece of anecdotal evidence, my Netshare up which was pulled more than a year ago still works in the latest Iphone. Apple may pull apps, but they certainly haven't removed apps that were sold and later pulled from the app store.
At my school, the business teacher's argument is that everyone uses MS. Office and therefore must be taught to all students without consideration for alternatives will no longer be a valid point! It will be much easier to support Open Office, when such a big player is using it. Not to mention that we can get it for free -- surely that is a compelling selling point in these times of economical difficulty, especially at schools.
Good point. I work with inner-city middle school kids, and many of them are "wanna-be-gangsters". They really think it is cool to be in gangs because it has been glorified in movies and games. Tony Montana has become a hero for many of these kids. Having said this, I don't thinks these movies and games should be banned, but they do influence our youth, especially inner-city kids, who often lead turbulent lives.
Linux has come a long way and it is ready for the average user. Yes, Joe-six-pack can use linux with a 15 minute tutorial in the basics. I just want to scream knowing that Microsoft is still undermining the market and retarding progress!
It would be nice if we could use this new wireless network on our smart phones and then let us tether our phones to our computers so that we could use it on the go and at home for one "reasonable price." --that is what I would love to see!
I just don't understand why it is taking Google so long to release a Mac and Linux version. Can someone explain some of the technical issues that would cause such a delay? I"m just curious.
They didn't even notify their customers. We had ordered hundreds of PCs (all-in-ones) for a new South Tower at our hospital and they didn't even have the courtesy to give is a head up! Just Plain rude!
I'm sure someone will come out with some cools apps with some interesting added features!
They are selling these editions at 9.99$. It seems a bit hight to me.

Does this abacus platform run IOS4? That would be sweet!

I share the same feelings. They are all bark and no bite as of late. It is a bit sad like a fading sports star...
Usenet has not been destroyed --yet! I"m hoping for the Usenet renaissance! I"m sure it will be called Usenet 2.0 ;)
Doesn't this mean that if you have an ipad, which runs iphone apps, that you will be able to buy from apple, or Amazon or B&N? What am I missing here?

Very well said! This post deserves a score higher! Yes it's language, it's human, and it's not logical :-)

It's also available through software update, which is only 168MB depending on your machine.
Inner-city as in all Hispanic second language learners.
