Now that was a funny advertisement. 79 users? By the time it takes me to write this sentence, at least that many will have joined up.
Seriously, I'm already running Folding@home, and have been for a while now. Processing for cancer is cooler than cranking for IBM. Sorry guys.
From what it appears, IBM's newest creation seems to be a poorly created or prematurely released distributed project: only Windows apps, and only dual processor support included. As someone else mentioned, HT isn't enabled for those who have the hardware capable.
When they finish their project and have proper clients, then this will be news.
It could work, but making every day land on the same day of the week could result in some days being perpetually reserved at the country club or high school, for instance; that leaves little room for a change of dates to shake things up.
Very interesting - and thats exactly how we can solve two problems at once. While we're all arguing about whether or not wind power is actually usable economically, and the fact that using hydrogen to send power is wasteful, the fact that its both a power source AND a solution to at least Florida's water supply issue makes it a lot better deal for the money.
If he has enough ideas to make another trek show, he might as well spend the time to create another series in the B5 universe - it will be better received.
If AIM services begin to be charged, they will alienate their obscenely large user base, and fleeing users will start using ICQ/MSN/Yahoo/etc. instead.
This also might give the guys at Gaim-vv a boost via incentives and volunteer manpower.
Someone already said it here about the report... where it goes up to 75%, drops way down until it reaches 97% lifelike.
right now, the real-time rendering is getting to that 75 - 90% mark, so things are looking a bit creepy, but give it a few months or years, and it'll then start to look very, very odd...
I, for one, will be preordering this.
I might even order one for my parents.

I had a similar impression... since when does 750 count as Massive?
About 508's posting, I almost left my chair.
Whoa. I've never heard of that before.
That would work quite well, as its just a fluid exchange. Heck, it might be easy to convert the existing infrastructure to use this.
Since I cant boost this up past +5, I'll just post.
Well, they're going off the same old numbering scheme:
one...
two...
FIVE!
The addage "Dont stare at the cliff you dont want to hit" now applies even more...
On a serious note, what does this mean for billboards and similar advertising?
Chances are very, very likely that it has nothing to do with either processor type.
Am I the only one who thought that this was a great movie?
That was random....

Ironically, very insightful.
Think about it - you've got a whole team of tech people... and you're going to force them to use a dell rather than building systems for the dept?
::shrug::
Message still works.
A new Internet Explorer with nice support and better features later...
or a Mozilla/Opera browser with nice support and better features now.....
Tough call.
Still, it's a move in the right direction, and it shows that even the developers know that IE has issues, and they want to fix it.
I made the mistake of taking a drink while reading that.
(:
You still don't even need to decrypt whatever it is!
All you really will need is to copy all the RFID data from a cheaper item, encryption and all, and dump it on another piece.
I wish I had a mod point for that post.
+1 Insightful
::troll feeding::
Its the option of being able to remove / not install it that we're talking about
With a system THAT powerful, Im sure it won't simply be doing just that, particularly with the US draft nearing readiness.

If I pick up a 286 in someone's trash,
bang for buck would be:
x / 0 -> infinity.
Woo! Infinite bang for the buck. Screw those P4EE's and the FX-53's, Im gonna get myself some 286
's!
lol...
I was going to mod this, but there wasnt a -1 Nausiating
